6-month-old Kareena was waiting for a donor liver when a match was found for her on September 11, 2001. But there was a problem: all U.S. airspace was shut down, and no medical air transport could get Kareena's donor liver from Nashville to Houston.
Tennessee Donor Services CEO, Jill Grandas, worked with the FAA, the Tennessee National Guard and medical teams to find a way to transport the lifesaving organ. Read more of this amazing story below. 💙💚

This evening, we would like to take a moment to remember Reverend Kenneth A. Allen, Sr. Reverend Allen was an early and steadfast supporter of our faith-based organ and tissue donation outreach, never hesitating to use his voice to champion a mission that gives hope and saves lives.

Reverend Allen embodied the spirit of giving, not only through his words, but through his service to his congregation and community. We will always be grateful for the way he opened his church and his heart to host Donor Sabbath and help others understand the profound gift of donation.

His kindness, compassion, faith, and genuine love for people left a lasting impact on so many. We are honored to have known him, grateful for his partnership, and will carry his legacy of giving forward.

"Brad’s legacy is that he spent an entire career doing what he loved, and that was being a veterinarian helping creatures big and small, furry and feathered.

Brad’s kindness and compassion for all living things didn’t end when he left work. No matter if it was a holiday or a weekend or a 2:00am phone call, he was always there to help a pet in need. In his spare time, his hobbies were running, fishing and gardening.

He wanted to be an organ donor to continue helping others. As his wife, it also brings me comfort knowing that his passing, while sudden, helps others to have a better quality of life." - Chris, wife of donor hero, Brad 💚
