Did you move in childhood? What do you think of this study. The highest risk time to move was 10-15 - middle school and early high school is a time of so much development- there’s puberty, there’s social pressures - so much happens. We definitely need more research to understand more about this correlation. There more to this study of course so let me know if you have questions

No benadryl for kids! It’s no longer recommended for allergies and not a good choice for children for sleep. Its causes about 15% of kids to go “wild” and hyper (called behavioral activation) and the sleep uou get is poor quality. Not good for adults either!

Sleep is one of the most powerful tools we have for mental health, especially for teens. But winding down isn’t always easy. That’s why I’m loving TikTok’s new Meditation in Sleep Hours feature. It helps teens and adults step away from the scroll and into a calmer night with guided meditations, soft music, and reminders when it’s time to rest. To turn it on: Go to Settings and Privacy > Screen Time > Sleep Hours Set your bedtime, and let the app help you unwind. Let’s build better sleep habits, together. Try the Meditation in Sleep Hours feature now in your TikTok settings.

Parenting Your teen won’t love this-but summer isn’t a free-for-all on screens. Set a plan together. Build in movement, social time, goals. Then ask: What do you want to get done before you scroll? Screens aren’t the enemy—but boredom shouldn’t be the only gateway.

Think your kids fight too much? You’re not alone. As a child psychiatrist, I can tell you: sibling fighting is normal but that doesn’t mean we ignore it or want it to happen. Some studies show kids ages 4 to 8 can fight up to 8 times an hour 🤪. It’s developmentally expected, but it’s still our job to help them learn how to fight fairly. If it turns aggressive or escalates to name-calling, that’s your cue to step in. Set limits. Stay calm. Teach repair. You’re not failing. They’re learning. Follow for part two: what to do when it gets intense.

And then … jk! I think I said that enough in the video for awhile. Treatment resistant depression has treatment options but first i have to make sure it truely is treatment resistant depression. I cant mention all the possibilities in a quick video but for me there has been a good number of patients that have other things when I do my re-evaluation. Willough Psychiatrist for part 1
