June is Men's Health Month and NAMI reminds us that there is often a strong focus on men’s physical health — fitness, annual checkups, and heart health — but mental well-being is equally as important because mental health is health!

Just as the body needs care and attention, so does emotional and mental well-being. Yet, there is a silent crisis in men’s mental health — one that too often goes unnoticed or unspoken. Men are nearly four times more likely to die by su***de than women, underscoring the urgent need to break this silence and seek support.

Take some time to remind the men in your life that talking about and taking care of their health, including mental health, is sign of strength and is important to overall wellness.

We extended Mental Health Awareness Month into June as we welcomed the Leadership team from Baptist Medical Center Clay to our KnightBoxx Campus. The Team selected CBHC as the recipient of their volunteer service project. They came in strong to landscape and beautify the entrance to our Adult Crisis Alternative Program. And they brought a truckload of mulch, plants and colorful flowers all donated by TLC Total Lawn Care in Green Cove Springs. The results are fabulous and we are so grateful to have this welcoming entrance to greet the individuals we serve. Thank you!
