I’ve been very careful about eating fresh fruits and vegetables from restaurants over the past few weeks because of the Cyclospora outbreak. Unfortunately, I forgot to remove the lettuce from my Taco Bell taco last week. Now reports are indicating that lettuce supplied to some Taco Bell locations may have been the source.

As a precaution, I am going to use more of some of the herbs I grow into my meals. While none of these have been proven to prevent or treat Cyclospora specifically, some herbs have shown antiparasitic activity in laboratory studies or have been used traditionally to support digestive health.

Tonight’s Lip Balm Making Workshop at Buffalo Rock Brewing Company-Bayside was such a fun night! It was great seeing everyone create their own custom lip balms, experiment with flavors, and leave with something they made themselves.
A big thank you to everyone who came out and to Buffalo Rock Brewing Company for hosting us. I always appreciate the support for these small, hands-on events. I can’t wait to do it again!
