Flourish Therapy Inc

Flourish Therapy Inc We provide affirming counseling services at a subsidized cost to those seeking therapy. Everyone is welcome.

We support LGBTQ individuals, families, and friends with vital therapy to navigate their journey to understand their s*xuality, gender identity, and spirituality. Many people feel unhappy and disconnected from themselves and the people they love. LGBT/SSA issues and LDS or religious values may influence those connections. If you wonder whether you can strengthen yourself and your relationships, th

ere are answers. New coping skills help you see yourself and your relationships differently and new brain techniques can help resolve old traumas along with current research that brings understanding. It's not too late to look at your life differently and change what's happening in your world. Whether you feel hopelessness, have problems with peers or parents, in a stuck relationship with yourself or others, find it difficult to understand or relate to teenagers, experience extended family issues that keep you from enjoying people you love, are carrying past trauma that continues to intrude and cause distress, or addressing LGBTQ issues, Flourish Counseling Services is for you. Our donors & volunteers make it possible for us to offer subsidized therapy. Flourish no longer will be operating out of the Encircle Center in Provo, and will be at a new location in the next month or so.

Hi community. Meet one of our therapists, Shanna Becker (she/her). As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, Shanna knows how important it can be to feel comfortable with your therapist. Whether they’re talking about identity or something completely different, her goal is to create a space where you can be yourself. She hopes you can work together toward the goals that matter most to you.

Before starting her clinical training, Shanna spent almost a decade working with adults with physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and mental health conditions. Since then, she has also worked with children in a day treatment program, and she currently works as a case manager in supportive housing. Looking back, those experiences have taught her a lot and have played a big role in the therapist she’s becoming. In her free time, Shanna loves watching movies, listening to music, attending concerts, seeing plays and musicals, and relaxing at home.

Our therapists aren’t just providers, they’re part of this community too. We asked Jackie what she’s learned as a q***r therapist working with q***r clients, and her answer says it all: showing up for each other isn’t separate from good therapy; it’s what makes the connection real. Her clients teach her something new every day. That’s not something you learn in grad school.

Sometimes love isn’t a big speech. It can be a sentence, said at the right moment. If your kid has ever come out to you (or you’re hoping to get it right when they do), these are words worth having ready. Not because you need a script, but because struggling kids remember what was said and what wasn’t.

Save this for the next hard conversation. Send it to a parent who needs it.

Hi folx give a warm welcome to Shara Ramirez (she/her). She believes healing begins when we feel seen, heard, and accepted. Her goal is to create a warm, collaborative space where clients can safely explore life’s challenges, deepen self-understanding, and build relationships that reflect their authentic selves. She approaches therapy with curiosity, compassion, and respect for each person’s unique story.

Her experiences navigating trauma, loss, identity shifts, complex relationships, and personal transformation have strengthened her belief in our capacity to heal and grow. She knows how difficult it can be to feel disconnected from oneself, and she is passionate about helping people reclaim their voice, reconnect with their values, and create lives that feel authentic and meaningful.

Trans enough isn’t a checklist.

No timeline, no wardrobe, no medical requirement, no “typical” story to match. However you’re figuring it out, you’re allowed to be exactly where you are.

Swipe through, and if it resonates, we’d love to talk. Flourish Therapy offers affirming, judgment-free support for trans and gender-expansive folks at every stage of figuring things out.

Some mornings the world feels loud before you’ve even opened your eyes. These six lines are less about “fixing” how you feel and more about coming back to yourself before the day asks you to be anything else. Save this for the mornings you need it most.

Hi community, meet one of our therapists, C Meyer (they/she). C identifies as genderq***r & neurodivergent. In May 2023, they graduated from the University of Utah with their Master of Social Work degree. In 2014 they received a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreational Therapy from the University of Utah. For the last ten years, C has worked at a youth Psychiatric Residential Treatment Center, where she advocated for creating critical policy and systemic change so transgender clients can receive equitable and ethical care.

They are a valuable member of the LGBTQIA2S+ community and are passionate about advocating for the rights and inclusion of LGBTQIA2S+ individuals.

They care deeply about gender-affirming care, unmasking neurodivergence, and su***de prevention. C’s work is rooted in social justice, s*x positivity, and a Q***r Theory lens. C helps facilitate a transgender and non-binary support group (formally through the Utah Pride Center and now hosted at Flourish Therapy) and works with other community partners to help amplify marginalized experiences and voices.

C is from Utah and no longer affiliates or subscribes to a belief system. They are an outdoor enthusiast, prioritizing their own self-care through running, riding motorcycles, snowboarding, and practicing yoga.

Her dream is to open an LGBTQIA2S+ group home for unsheltered youth while providing a holistic experience in combination with recreational therapy, trauma-informed care, and psycho-education. She is interested in the healing components of nutrition, psychedelic-assisted therapy, and becoming EMDR certified to assist LGBTQIA2S+ clients better; they are EMDR trained.

They look forward to meeting and walking beside you on this incredible healing journey.

To our q***r community: if you’re running on fumes right now, this is your permission slip to rest. Decision fatigue. Anxiety fatigue. Just-trying-to-keep-up fatigue. Whatever it is, it’s real. Be gentle with yourself.
