At Vineyard City’s ‘9/11 Honoring Past and Present Heroes’ event, awards were presented to veterans, first responders, medical professionals and community heroes who have dedicated their lives to serving others.
Two medical professionals from Orem Community Hospital were recognized and presented plaques by Kym Heslington, our nurse administrator.
Jody Stevenson is our nurse manager in women’s health and has spent nearly four decades at Orem Community Hospital. From charge nurse, to educator, to manager, she has shaped countless nurses, improved patient care, and strengthened processes at the hospital. Known for her remarkable knowledge, calm presence, and unwavering integrity, she guided teams through challenges large and small, including the unprecedented demands of COVID-19. Through every role, Jody championed education, staff development, and excellence in care. Her influence reaches far beyond the unit, touching patients, colleagues, and generations of caregivers. Jody’s legacy is truly extraordinary and she’s lost count of how many babies she’s helped deliver.
Dr. Kari Lawrence is a newer addition to the Orem Community Hospital team. She is an exceptional gynecologist and surgeon, and is deeply respected by patients, caregivers, and colleagues for her clinical expertise, kindness, humility, and an unwavering commitment to teaching and supporting others. Dr. Lawrence consistently goes above and beyond to ensure patients feel informed and valued, and has made a lasting impact on Orem Community Hospital through dedication, collaboration, and selfless service.
As we remembered the lives lost on September 11, 2001, we also recognized those who answered the call to serve then and those who continue to serve today. We’re grateful to Vineyard City, and join with them in thanking our heroes for their courage, sacrifice and commitment to our community.
