Happy Pioneer Day from our tiniest Utahns! ❤️

Observed each year on July 24, Pioneer Day is a Utah state holiday that recognizes the arrival of the first Mormon pioneers in the Salt Lake Valley in 1847. Today, many people will mark the day with parades, family activities and other local celebrations.

As families celebrate, our NICU team here at Timpanogos Regional Hospital is honored to care for some of the newest members of our community — including these little ones dressed for the occasion. Utah is the Beehive State, after all! 🐝

Whether your holiday includes time outdoors, local events or fireworks, please celebrate safely. Remember: If an unexpected injury or illness happens, emergency care is available when you need it.

From our NICU families and caregivers to yours, we wish you a safe and meaningful Pioneer Day!

Timpanogos Regional is home to a Level III NICU, where our medical team supports babies who need extra care after birth. Our Women’s Services and NICU departments are prepared to care for the smallest of infants with advanced technology, specialized equipment designed for micro and nano preemies, and a team trained to meet their incredibly delicate needs.

Please join us in congratulating Christina Wright, recipient of the Timpanogos Regional Hospital 2026 Leader of the Year award! 🎉🎉🎉

Christina has spent the past three years as the Director of MountainStar Healthcare Children’s Services. In May, Christina celebrated her 20-year work anniversary! In 2006, she began her career as a technician in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) here at Timpanogos Regional. She worked her way up as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Postpartum Unit, a Registered Nurse (RN) in the NICU—Charge Nurse and Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) there too—then served as the Manager of Women's and Children's before her current role.

"I grew up here," she explained. How wonderful it's been to watch! We are SO glad you're part of the family!

Christina’s leadership reflects what it means to show up with purpose — for her team, her patients and the children & families we serve. Through positivity, accountability and compassion, she has helped create a supportive environment where colleagues feel valued, empowered and connected to the meaning behind their work. Christina's ability to build trust, listen to her team, and respond with meaningful support has helped foster a culture of ownership and stability.

With her at the head, MountainStar Children’s Services has continued to focus on patient-centered care and safe, reliable clinical practice. Her commitment to quality outcomes and process improvement helps strengthen the trust families place in our hospital.

Christina leads with heart and inspires others. Her steady leadership and optimism make those around her better. Congratulations, Christina! 💙🧡

Thank you for leading with empathy, delivering results and helping us provide high-quality care for our community.

Meet Dr. Charles Dahl.

Dr. Dahl is a cardiologist and lipidologist who has served Utah County as a physician since 1980. As a medical researcher — and having board certifications in both cardiology and lipidology — his rare combination of medical and scientific experience is why many patients have come to him over the years for their heart health.

"When a patient comes to see me, they are seeing me for my expertise," says Dr. Dahl.

And even though many come to him for answers, he knows that his knowledge is just part of the bigger picture.

"I have the scientific knowledge and the experience. They, however, know their own situation the best... we work together to formulate a plan that best serves their needs."

Dr. Dahl currently sees patients at the Heart Center at Timpanogos Regional Hospital. As our on-site cardiology clinic, the Heart Center is a resource for patients across Utah County and surrounding rural areas.

To learn more about Dr. Dahl or the Heart Center, visit HeartCenterTimpanogos.com or call (801) 714-6412.

Please join us in recognizing two of our ER nurses, Andrew & Michelle, who recently received a TNK recognition for their role in caring for a patient experiencing stroke symptoms. 👏

Tenecteplase — commonly referred to as "TNK" — is a powerful clot-busting medication (thrombolytic) used to quickly dissolve blood clots during acute ischemic strokes.

Stroke care requires quick recognition, clear communication and coordinated action. Their recognition reflects the skill, readiness and teamwork our emergency care colleagues bring to time-sensitive situations — all while keeping patients at the center of every decision.

This commitment is also reflected in Timpanogos Regional Hospital’s recent recognition from the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association as a Get With The Guidelines® - Stroke GOLD PLUS with Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll Achievement Award Hospital.

Together, these recognitions highlight the dedication of our physicians, nurses, EMS partners, therapists and support teams who work together to deliver timely, evidence-based stroke care when every second matters.

Thanks again, Andrew & Michelle, for showing up with urgency, compassion and clinical excellence for our patients. 💙🧡

In 2025, HCA Healthcare achieved a median door-to-needle time — the time between a patient arriving at the hospital and receiving clot-busting medication — of 33 minutes, 45% faster than the national benchmark of 60 minutes for stroke treatment.

Meet Hōkū, one of our newest visitors here at Timpanogos Regional Hospital. 🐾

The Orem Police Department’s service K9 Officer and Detective Rob Christensen recently began visiting children & families receiving care through MountainStar Healthcare Children’s Services.

For the past two years, Hōkū — a red Labrador — has worked alongside Detective Christensen with Orem students in area schools. She loves spending time with kids! Now, she is bringing her calm, friendly presence to our pediatric unit, as well — where animal-assisted visits can help create moments of comfort, connection and normalcy during a hospital stay.

"Hōkū brings comfort in a way that feels natural and joyful for children," said Rachelle Kroll, our Child Life Specialist. "A visit from her can help make the hospital feel less overwhelming and give families a meaningful moment of connection during their child’s care."

At Timpanogos Regional Hospital, every child is a star and receives high-quality patient care. From the Emergency Room to extended-stays, you can trust us with your child's healing. Explore more about MountainStar Children’s Services at TimpHospital.com/Kids.

P.S. Hōkū turned three years old on July 11. Happy belated birthday, sweet girl! 🎉
