I am NOT crying right now. It’s always such an honor to support women in pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I try my best to check in with placenta encapsulation clients a few weeks after encapsulating and just look, y’all! 🥰 this is why I offer placenta encapsulation as one of my many services! The night and day difference is truly amazing. I love what I do and I cannot thank my clients enough for entrusting me with the literal lifeline of their babies before they transitioned earthside. 🥹

Cord blood facts to know to kick off National Cord Blood Awareness Month:

🩸Contains warm, oxygen-rich blood that your baby needs to transition from womb to world

🩸Blood "backs up" into the placenta during pushing and birth, then floods into baby once they're earthside

🩸Babies get about 70% of their cord blood in the first 30 seconds after birth, and all of it by around 3-5 mins after birth (so make sure you keep the cord intact at *least* that long!)

🩸This blood from the cord helps keep blood vessels surrounding the alveoli (air sacs in lungs) open while baby learns to breathe

🩸Baby still gets oxygen from you and the placenta while the cord is pulsing as baby is learning to breathe

🩸Babies who have delayed cord clamping have less anemia (low iron in the blood) at 4 months of age
