☀️ Summer Heat + Staying Active = Hydration Matters More Than Ever 💧
Training in the heat isn’t just about performance — it’s about safety.
Here are a few key hydration tips to keep you strong and protected during summer workouts:
• Respect your limits — heat and humidity make everything harder
• Watch for warning signs: dizziness, confusion, or unusual sweating
• Hydrate throughout the day (aim for pale yellow urine)
• Use sports drinks during longer workouts to replace salt and fluids
• Avoid overhydration — balance is key
• Don’t forget salt — your body needs it in the heat
• Use water to cool off strategically during exercise
These aren’t just tips for athletes — they matter even more for individuals living with chronic conditions like lupus, where heat and dehydration can trigger symptoms or flares.
