“They know better, so why did they do that?” 🤔

If you've ever asked yourself this about your teenager, you're not alone.

One day, your teen demonstrates incredible maturity and judgment. The next, they make a decision that leaves you wondering what happened.

🧠 Here's why: Their brain is still developing.

During adolescence, there's often a gap between understanding what's right and being able to consistently act on that understanding, especially when emotions or impulses are involved.

This inconsistency is a normal part of adolescent development, not necessarily a sign of defiance or irresponsibility.

💜 Instead of expecting perfect decisions, focus on offering guidance, encouraging reflection, and giving your teen opportunities to learn and grow.

When your teen is struggling with friendships, it's natural to want to step in and fix things. But sometimes, the best thing you can do is listen. 💜

Instead of jumping to conclusions or offering immediate advice, try asking:

💬 “What do you think would help?”
💬 “How do you want to handle this?”
💬 “What do you think your friends are feeling?”

Approaching these conversations as a coach rather than a problem-solver gives your teen room to make decisions, learn from mistakes, and build confidence.

Nearly 50% of people will experience a mental health condition at some point during their lifetime.

Mental health affects families, workplaces, friendships, and communities — which is why awareness, education, and access to care matter so much.

This month is a reminder to lead with compassion, check in on others, and prioritize your own well-being too.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

We also recognize that holidays like Memorial Day can bring up difficult emotions for many individuals, veterans, military families, and loved ones. It’s important to give yourself grace, seek connection, and prioritize your mental well-being during this time.

From all of us at APG Health, we thank those who served and remember those we have lost. ❤️🤍💙

Mental health is just as important as physical health — yet many people wait months or even years before seeking support.

Anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, trauma, and life transitions can impact relationships, work, sleep, and overall well-being. The good news is that support is available, and treatment can help people regain balance, confidence, and hope.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, APG Health encourages everyone to normalize conversations around mental health and remind others that asking for help is not weakness — it’s self-care.

Whether you’re struggling personally or supporting a loved one, you don’t have to navigate it alone.
