Indian Hills Occupational Therapy Assistant

Indian Hills Occupational Therapy Assistant After program completion, graduates will be eligible to take the national certification examination

Occupational Therapy Assistants are licensed health care providers who work with, and under the supervision of occupational therapists, to administer treatments to patients/clients. Treatments include hands–on services to children and adults who are learning new ways to succeed in the activities of daily living. Employment opportunities are expected to increase dramatically and include hospitals, clinics, mental health clinics, school systems, home health agencies, and long term care centers.

Happy May Day from the OTA program! 1st year students had the opportunity to learn about instructing patients in snack prep and kitchen activities today prior to distributing May Baskets. When distributing May baskets around campus, students got a glimpse of what it might be like to use a wheelchair on campus as well as practicing instructing patients in w/c.
