Local nonprofit seeks help with back-to-school shoes and items for kids ...

Everyone knows the importance of new shoes to start the school year on the right foot! Part of our work is to provide each child that gets a backpack from us with a gift card for new shoes at our Back to School Party! 👟

The Shiawassee Humane Society (SHS), located at 2752 W. Bennington Rd. in Owosso, is a local nonprofit that is totally dependent on community support. The Shiawassee Humane Society relies completely on donor funding and is an independent animal care organization, receiving nothing from government funds. The team at Sobaks Home Medical of Owosso chose SHS as the May monthly nonprofit to support. Sobaks team members donated during the month of May with 100-percent of all proceeds going directly to SHS in support of their amazing efforts.
Shown on Wednesday, July 15 with the check is Carrie Henne, SHS Board President. Henne is surrounded by several Sobaks team members including Sobaks EO Brian Springsdorf. The mission of SHS is to "enhance the lives of the pets and their people by providing needed resources to keep them happy, healthy and safe." There are several ways to assist SHS including adoption, fostering, donations and, of course, volunteers are always needed. Please visit shspets.org for more information.
Our Sobaks team hopes to inspire continuing support of our local nonprofits. We want to thank Henne, the SHS board and all of the wonderful staff and volunteers at the Bennington Road location for their efforts in making Shiawassee a better place to live for both people and animals, too.
