The first 90 days shouldn’t be about looking perfect.

What I’d Do Differently Starting My LNC Business Today

As a Legal Nurse Consultant, author, and someone who has helped nurses transition from bedside into the legal space, I’ve seen firsthand what works—and what wastes time—when starting an LNC business.

If I had to start over today, I wouldn’t focus on doing more—I’d focus on doing the right things sooner.

First, I’d stop over-preparing.

It’s easy to get stuck in “learning mode”—taking courses, tweaking your website, waiting until everything feels perfect.
But clarity doesn’t come from preparation. It comes from action.

Second, I’d focus on relationships earlier.

This business runs on trust.
Not just credentials. Not just visibility.
If I could go back, I’d spend more time connecting with attorneys and understanding how they think.

Third, I’d simplify how I present my value.

Attorneys don’t want a long explanation.
They want to know one thing: Can you make their job easier?

And lastly, I’d respect the timeline.

This isn’t fast. It’s consistent.
Most people don’t fail—they just stop too early.
