A Day of Service, Connection & Community ❤️
Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming 25 sixth-grade students and four teachers from Annville-Cleona School District to the Village Arts Center for their annual Day of Service.
Together with 12 resident volunteers, students and residents spent the morning creating 40 handmade cards, which were personally delivered to residents throughout our community. The group also joined voices to sing five patriotic songs in celebration of America's upcoming 250th birthday.
What made the day truly special were the connections formed across generations.
💬 "I showed how to act kind to elders and just listened to them." — Lucas H.
💬 "I used to think that it was going to not be much fun, but I loved playing board games with them." — Adalia
💬 "I felt proud when I made Joyce happy and helped her day." — James
From board games and crafts to conversations and music, the day was filled with smiles, laughter, and meaningful moments. Experiences like these remind us that no matter our age, we all have something valuable to share with one another.
Thank you to the students, teachers, and resident volunteers who made this intergenerational day such a success. It was truly a wonderful day for everyone involved. ✨
