A Day of Service, Connection & Community ❤️

Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming 25 sixth-grade students and four teachers from Annville-Cleona School District to the Village Arts Center for their annual Day of Service.

Together with 12 resident volunteers, students and residents spent the morning creating 40 handmade cards, which were personally delivered to residents throughout our community. The group also joined voices to sing five patriotic songs in celebration of America's upcoming 250th birthday.

What made the day truly special were the connections formed across generations.

From board games and crafts to conversations and music, the day was filled with smiles, laughter, and meaningful moments. Experiences like these remind us that no matter our age, we all have something valuable to share with one another.

Thank you to the students, teachers, and resident volunteers who made this intergenerational day such a success. It was truly a wonderful day for everyone involved. ✨

🌸 Moments in Bloom 🌸

Last month, we celebrated National Nursing Home Week with a week full of appreciation, laughter, sweet treats, and plenty of opportunities to bloom together. 💐

Our staff enjoyed treats from Cool Beans Brew, a delicious employee breakfast, and a creative afternoon of planting flowers, painting pots, and enjoying ice cream from Urban Churn . From colorful flower pots to smiling faces, it was a wonderful reminder of the incredible people who make Londonderry Village such a special place.

A special thank you to Laysers Flowers for generously donating the flowers used during our potting activity. Your support helped make the day even more meaningful for our team. 🌷

Today, on Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication to protecting our freedoms will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸

Earlier this week, Londonderry Village residents, staff, and guests gathered for a meaningful Memorial Day Observance led by the LV Veterans Club. Veteran Club President Chuck Theal guided the ceremony in remembrance of all branches of our military who served during conflicts that helped keep our country free.

We were honored to hear inspiring words from guest speaker Reverend Nancy Reinert and enjoy beautiful piano tributes provided by volunteer Karen Umburger in honor of our veterans.

Today, we remember the fallen, honor those who served, and express our deepest gratitude to all who have sacrificed for our nation. ❤️🤍💙

Today, we officially reopened our beautifully refreshed Cafe & Library spaces with a special resident open house — and the turnout was incredible! Residents filled the space to explore, connect, and sample some of the exciting new menu offerings now available at the newly renamed Crossings Cafe. ☕🥪📚

From the expanded menu and new grab-and-go case to locally roasted coffee from Cleona Coffee Roasters, the new Pepsi fountain machine, and our brand-new Village Vitality Series, there’s so much to discover in this refreshed space designed to better serve and connect our community.

The Library also received a beautiful refresh, featuring updated seating areas and a stunning image of the original Grubb Barn — a meaningful tribute to the roots and history of how this wonderful community began. 🤍

We’re also excited to welcome outside guests to enjoy the cafe! Friends, family, and community members are invited to stop by, grab a coffee or meal, and experience the refreshed space during our open hours:

🌸 Mason jars, fresh blooms, and lots of creativity! 🌿✨

Yesterday’s Lunch N Learn with Jessica Maloy from Palmyra Greenhouse was the perfect mix of fun, learning, and hands-on creativity. Guests enjoyed watching floral arranging tips come to life and creating their own beautiful mason jar arrangements to take home. 💐
