We want to share an important update with our community regarding recent cleanup efforts.

All volunteer-led property cleanup operations have now been completed. We are incredibly grateful for the time, energy, and dedication shown by everyone involved over the past week and a half, it has truly been amazing to witness.

Miami County Road & Bridge crews have finished debris pickup in the Hillsdale area and will continue expanding their pickup zones, along with maintaining their regular service schedule throughout the county.

At this time, the room at the Hillsdale Learning Center is closed for supplies.

We understand that some individuals may still need assistance. If you require support, please reach out to Undersheriff Matthew Kelly at 913-294-3232 ext. 7101 or via email at [email protected].

An after-action report will be completed in the near future as we continue working to learn from and improve our response to events like this.

Thank you again to everyone who stepped up to help, it made a real difference.

Last week’s EF-2 tornado in Hillsdale hit our community hard.

Miami County Health Department staff were on the ground helping set up a shelter, providing first aid, and supporting logistics and coordination for our Emergency Operations Center and to those affected.

The devastation is real, but so is the way we show up for each other, with smiles, hugs, kind hearts and helping hands.

This community always comes together and we are so thankful to our ESF-8 partners, volunteers, residents and local and state agencies who’ve all played a role in the response and recovery.

Miami County is strong, and we’ll keep showing up!
