Research shows that intimate partner violence is the single strongest overall predictor of child abuse in a home — which is unsurprising.

What is surprising is that the presence of a stepparent in the home is the strongest DEMOGRAPHIC predictor of child abuse. That doesn’t mean most stepparents are unsafe — many are incredible, loving, and life-giving.

It does mean that kids thrive on stability and peace.

If you’re in a marriage with your child’s other parent that is (1) non-violent and (2) free from serial adultery, your relationship is almost certainly worth fighting for.

Choosing forgiveness and connection over quitting gives your kids advantages that no statistic can measure — security, belonging, and hope.

Exploring the link between physical and mental health is an excellent early step when things don't feel right. This is a list of bloodwork I worked up for my clients, and I thought it could be helpful for you as well when you have discussions with your physician!
(And added to this list- I think you should ALWAYS ask to be tested for a UTI if things suddenly seem abnormal)
