🌷 Sierra Winds May Recap 🌷

May was a month full of fun, friendship, and celebration at Sierra Winds! From honoring the special women in our lives on Mother’s Day to remembering and celebrating Memorial Day, residents enjoyed a busy social calendar packed with memorable moments.

Throughout the month, we ventured out on exciting outings to Black Bear Diner, Picazzo’s, and Desert Diamond Casino, creating wonderful memories along the way. Back at Sierra Winds, residents enjoyed a variety of engaging activities, including our popular rum tasting event and many other social gatherings, games, and experiences that kept everyone active and connected.

A big thank you to all of our residents and team members who helped make May such a vibrant and enjoyable month. We loved seeing so many smiling faces and new friendships continue to grow.

As we turn the page to June, we’re looking forward to even more exciting activities, outings, and opportunities to make memories together!

From growing up in small-town Minnesota to traveling the world, serving as a nurse, welcoming exchange students into her home, and building a vibrant life at Sierra Winds, Marian’s story is a beautiful reminder that life doesn’t stop it keeps unfolding.

Her advice? “Don’t wait. Life is right here. You just have to show up for it.”

This week, residents got a sneak peek of our new Assisted Living unit coming soon to Sierra Winds! We received so much wonderful feedback, and we want to thank everyone who came out to tour the space and share their thoughts.

Congratulations to everyone involved in the completion of this beautiful new AL unit. Every detail was carefully thought out, from the décor to the model design, creating a warm and welcoming environment for future residents.

This new unit will be a tremendous asset to Sierra Winds and an exciting addition to our community. Thank you to all who dedicated countless hours to making this project a reality and for continuing to create new options for our residents. We appreciate you!

Bernice was born in Corona, California, and has pursued her passion for the culinary arts through studies at Riverside Community College, Northern Arizona University, and currently Arizona State University. Last year, she moved to Arizona to be closer to family and begin an exciting new chapter. Soon after, she joined the Sierra Winds family and quickly became a valued part of our community.

As our Kitchen Manager, Bernice works closely with Chef Christina, who describes her as “one of the most reliable, kind, creative, and hands-on people I have ever met.” 💚

Bernice’s love for cooking and baking shines through in every dish she creates. Anyone who has tasted her food knows the care, creativity, and heart she puts into her work each day.

When she’s not in the kitchen, Bernice enjoys reading, painting, crafting, thrifting, and relaxing with a good movie. She is passionate about making others feel happy and valued, and she finds joy in bringing people together through food.
