❤️ Remember When… ❤️

Our hearts are overflowing with the love that you showed our ICC residents for the "I Once Was" video. Now it is our wonderful IC residents turn! 🥰

Some were homemakers, business owners, healthcare workers, farmers, and held so many other important occupations and roles that they loved and took great pride in. ❤️

Now, after years of giving their time to others, we hope they remember to take time for themselves, enjoy this chapter of life, and do the things that bring them joy. They have certainly earned it! 🌷❤️

Dr. David Melchior, DO — A Truly Amazing Doctor ❤️

A truly amazing doctor is hard to find, difficult to part with, and impossible to forget. After 32 years of caring for the people of Perry County, Dr. David Melchior, DO, will officially retire on September 30th.

Today marked a very special milestone as he made his last Dr. rounds with his patients at ICC. Throughout his incredible career, Dr. Melchior has touched countless lives with his compassion, dedication, gratitude, and caring heart.

As he reflects on his journey, he shared, "God steered me in the direction of practice in Perry County because of my roots.” He described his career as "a cool ride full of joy” and said, "It was like treating family and friends.” That is truly the heart of “The life of a country doctor.”

ICC would like to thank Dr. Melchior for all the care, support, kindness, and dedication he has given our residents, employees, and community over the years. Dr. Melchior's patients at ICC are going to miss you dearly and want you to know that they will never forget the gratitude, compassion, and caring heart you showed them.

Congratulations on your retirement, Dr. Melchior! We wish you many wonderful years ahead filled with happiness, relaxation, family, and new adventures. And as for what comes next? Dr. Melchior says he plans to “do whatever Mrs. Melchior wants to do!” ❤️

The construction beams are officially going up at Independence Care Center, marking a major milestone for our senior living community's new activity room! 🙌

This expanded area will give our ICC residents their very own personal space to relax, play games, participate in activities and allow residents from Independence Care Center and Independence Court to attend church services outside of the dining hall.

We can already picture the smiles, laughter, and community gatherings that will fill this room. 🥰💛

It's National Ginger Cat Appreciation Day, and we are celebrating Ginger, our resident therapy superstar!

While orange cats are famous for their big personalities, Ginger uses his to bring absolute joy, warmth, and peace to our residents.

From room visits to afternoon naps with Sylvia, he is a vital part of our family.
