Hope For The Home

Hope For The Home Promoting the Gospel through the family and strengthening relationships that matter the most. Welcome. My name is Jason McBride.

I am married to my lovely wife, Natalie, and we have 11 beautiful children. We are nestled on a little homestead tucked away in the country. Our hearts desire is to be an encouragement and bring hope to other families where we see relationships being restored, and marriages become unbreakable. Our prayer is that we become a blessing to you as we open up our lives and share our hearts. We want fami

lies to be a stronger, tighter unit so that they can give each new generation a foundation to build upon. We aren’t perfect people, and are just like everyone else with the same struggles. But we do desire to equip God’s people with the things Natalie and I have learned together. We feel honored you are here and look forward to hearing from you.

We are grateful for the sacrifices our fallen soldiers chose to give in place for our freedoms. We pray for comfort and peace to all the families of those soldiers. These men and women are remembered. 🇺🇸

Being a mother is the grandest adventure on earth. Never lose sight of the goal.

I can recount many Spring mornings grandpa coming in from the milk barn, getting a cup of water, and standing at the kitchen window to watch the storms come in. It was guaranteed that he would say the same thing every time. “Natalie, look at that. The rain’s commin’ in.”

We woke up this morning to the most refreshing sound of a steady rain, and I found myself remembering grandpa’s conversations surrounding the weather no matter what he was doing. He was always so relieved when it would rain, for his farm depended on it.

As I was helping guide math activities this morning, I opened all the windows to enjoy the sounds of thunder, and the baby birds chirping away that have made several nests along the back deck. I warmed up my coffee for the third time, and I couldn’t help but smile.

I have good memories of a simple life with my grandparents, and I often find myself being grateful for the same simple things they were grateful for.

Without realizing similar patterns are evident in the tiniest of details woven into my life, I looked over to my youngest two, and said, “Look at that. The rain is giving our land a big drink of water. We can’t make it rain. It is a gift from God.”

My youngest son, with all seriousness, said, “Mama, it’s like presents falling from the sky.”

I love making conversations meaningful no matter who it is with, but children bring me to a place of joy, innocence, loving-kindness, and I see a much bigger purpose in it all.

With reheated coffee in hand, and the children’s math, I couldn’t help but tear up thinking about all of those memories, and what God has helped me overcome.

Even though my grandfather was not a believing man, the good things will always stand out. And I’m thankful he was in my life.

We serve a redeeming God, a God of justice, but also a God full of mercy and grace. I’m thankful to know that He can rain down all of His attributes as a gift in ways that speak to us all so differently.

May peace be with you today.

Happy Sunday everyone! I would love to fill this page with all things family on a random Sunday, but I am always hesitant to over share. The best parts of our lives never make it to social media and it is the one thing I know I’ll never regret.

I hope you all have a wonderful start to your week and God bless all families who wake up everyday giving it their best, and leaving the rest up to God. 🫶🏻

God created mothers to be special. Isaiah describes God’s response to Israel by comparing His love to that of a mother.

“ As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.” (66:13)

When God describes His love for His people in human terms, He uses one of the highest forms of recognizable love—the love between a mother and her children.

We had the privilege today to serve in a congregation where the pastor recognized, not only the biological mothers, but all those women who have exercised their motherly affection through adoption, hospitality, or service to the body of Christ. Mother’s Day is a beautiful opportunity to recognize these faithful servants and saints.

Personally, I was blessed to have a faithful mother, and I was duly blessed to marry a woman who exhibits that sacrificial and nurturing love to our children. Thank you, Mom for your years of sacrifice for our family. Thank you, Natalie for setting an example for our daughters, and setting the standard for our sons.

Being these boys’ mother is life’s greatest honor and privilege. I do not take my role for granted. Every time I look into their eyes I see Jason, and joy floods my heart. I feel so grateful that God would entrust their care to us. Not to mention the fact that every mom needs a few cowboys around to protect the homestead while daddy is bringing home the bacon.

To all of the mothers who are dedicated to finishing well, don’t stop. Journey on when it gets hard, and continue to depend on Christ’s strength to see you through. 🙂

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it into the day of Jesus Christ…”
Philippians 1:6

I’m so grateful for the slow days. 🙏 The weather today has been wild. Hail and several rain storms have come in to cool things down. Typical Midwest Springtime weather is usually tornadic but we are making the most of our time while being indoors. School books, audios, history lessons, Whitefield, J. Edwards, legos, and sourdough baking- all in a rainy day homeschool mom’s life… And I wouldn’t have it any other way. 💙🩷
