Does your knee hurt when you squat? Don't panic—you probably don't need to give them up completely.

Knee pain when squatting is common, and it doesn't automatically mean something is damaged or that you need to stop exercising.

Sometimes the problem isn't even your knee.

In my newest blog, I'm breaking down some of the most common reasons your knee might hurt when you squat, a couple things you can try yourself, and when it's time to have someone take a closer look.

If squats have been bothering your knees lately, give it a read. 👇

This is one of the most frequent questions I hear in the clinic, and I’m going to start by reassuring you that knee pain while squatting is common and often very treatable.

It's State Fair season which means a whole lot of walking and indulging in lots of fried and not-so-healthy foods.

And honestly? That's what balance looks like.

You don't have to eat perfectly, exercise every day, or do everything right to be healthy. You can go to the fair, splurge on the cheese curds and deep-fried pickles, and not worry about feeling guilty because it's a one-time thing.

Health isn't about perfection. It's about finding a way to enjoy the things you love while taking care of yourself along the way.

I came home feeling healthier than ever... and I didn't set foot in the gym.

Having some time to relax, get outside, and soak in the peaceful surroundings did wonders for my overall health. Our camping trip was full of relaxing in hammocks, hiking, walking, family time, sunshine and a whole lot less stress.

Don't get me wrong- I still love lifting weights. But it was a good reminder that health isn't just about exercise. Sometimes it's about getting away from the everyday busyness of life and making time for things that fill your cup.

It was exhausting, recharging, and exactly what I needed.⛺🌳🚶‍♀️

Out of office 7/13-7/17.

Current treatment plan:
🌲 Fresh air
🔥 Campfires
🚴 Biking
🌭 Camp food
⭐ Star gazing
📖 Hammock reading
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family time

Yes... we do actual tent camping. 😄

As much as I love helping people stay active, it's important for me to practice what I preach. Sometimes the best thing you can do for your health is unplug, slow down, and spend time outdoors.

I'll be out of the office this week recharging and making memories with my family. I'll return messages when I'm back. See you soon!

When I opened Prevail, I wasn't trying to reinvent physical therapy. I just wanted to bring back the kind of care I believe people deserve.

Time to listen. Time to explain. Time to problem-solve. And one-on-one attention from start to finish.

Thank you, Bob, for your kind words and for trusting me with your care. Hearing that someone felt seen, supported, and successful is the best compliment I could receive.

If you know me, you know that the 4th of July is a big deal at our house.

Every year we fill our backyard with friends for grilling, yard games, wiffle ball, lots of laughs, and of course, fireworks at dusk. It's one of those days that reminds me how important it is to make time for the people and activities we love.

That's why I love what I do. Staying healthy isn't just about logging hours in the gym—it's about being able to say "yes" to the moments that make life so much fun.

I hope your day is filled with good food, great company, and memories that last long after the fireworks are over.

Have a safe and Happy Fourth of July!

One of the most common questions I hear:

"Why does my shoulder hurt when I work out?"

The answer is rarely as simple as "because you injured it."

Shoulder pain can be frustrating because the source of the problem isn't always where you feel it. Sometimes the shoulder is the victim, not the culprit.

I put together a blog covering some of the most common reasons shoulder pain shows up during exercise—and what you can do to keep doing the activities you love.

Read it here:

You’re halfway through your workout and you start to notice it. Maybe it’s a pinch during an overhead press or pain in the front of the shoulder when doing rows. Maybe that pain lingers long after you’re done working out...

After what felt like the longest Wisconsin winter in history, we're coming up on the day of the year with the most daylight hours.

Flowers are blooming, the grass is green (thanks to all this rain⛈) and the sun is still out long past dinner time. So get outside, dang it!

Take the walk. Go for a bike ride. Play a round of golf. Hit the pickleball court. Work in the garden.

A healthy life isn't built in the gym alone- it's built by doing more of the things that bring you joy and make you feel alive.

Don't let these long summer days go to waste. ☀

If you know me, you know this is one of my favorite times of year 🌷🌸🌼

The second the weather warms up, I’m outside planting flowers, cleaning up the gardens, and bringing everything back to life after winter.

And honestly… taking care of our bodies isn’t all that different.

Flowers don’t thrive with one sunny day or one watering session. They need consistent care over time. So do we.

Movement, sleep, strength, fresh air, nourishing food, slowing down a little… the small things add up.

Your body deserves the same care you give your flowers 💐
