🙏🏼🇺🇸 I feel like this day is so heavy that it’s hard to put it into words. Stories like this put it all together for me. I hope my children never experience horror like this in their lives. Most importantly, I hope they never forget what happened & the bravery of those who served before they were born.

Father Mychal Judge—Franciscan friar and beloved chaplain to the NYC Fire Department—was the first certified fatality of the 9/11 attacks. He was offering spiritual support at the World Trade Center when he was killed during the collapse of the South Tower. His friend, Father Michael Duffy, remembers giving the homily at Father Mychal’s funeral service.
