Mental Health Partnerships Our Values
We value Hope, the belief that a better future is achievable. By fostering hope, we promote success and resilience.

Mental Health Partnerships was founded, and continues to thrive, on the basic principle that people with mental health conditions can and do recover because they have the resilience to direct their own journeys in overcoming significant adversity. Our Vision
Individuals challenged by mental health conditions are empowered to direct their recovery journeys, and family members are prepared to play s

upportive roles, all as members of informed and inclusive communities. Our Mission
To promote groundbreaking ideas and create opportunities for resilience and recovery by applying the knowledge learned from the people we support, employ, and engage in transformative partnerships. We value Self-Determination, the exercise of free will - to encourage the independent expression of ideas and control over one's own life. We value a Holistic Focus, which represents the interrelatedness of all human needs. By recognizing the connection among physical, mental and spiritual needs, we nurture growth and creativity. We value Support, the nonjudgmental sharing of knowledge, experience and assistance among peers and colleagues - as a basis for promoting personal and professional development and achievement. We value Cultural Awareness, understanding and honoring a person's deeply held values, beliefs and practices - as a foundation for building, enriching and complementary relationships. We value Personal Responsibility, that each of us is accountable for our actions, and that each of is responsible for pursuing his or her purpose in life - as vital for overcoming challenges and achieving personal and professional goals. We value Empowerment, the process of helping individuals increase their capacity to make choices and to transform those choices into desired outcomes - as necessary for helping individuals gain the self-confidence required for self-actualization and leadership. We value Respect, the unconditional regard for the inherent worth of all individuals - as necessary for developing, maintaining and enhancing effective personal and professional relationships. We value a Strengths-Based Perspective, which presumes that everyone has resilience and talents, and which acknowledge individuals' unique ideas and experiences. By focusing on strengths, we cultivate hope. We value Education and Learning, the lifelong pursuit of knowledge and experiences - for their own sake and for enhancing personal and professional development. Our work is guided by the following convictions
People with serious mental health conditions can and do recover. Recovery is different for each person, but is possible for all. Recovery occurs in the community and with connections to natural supports. Individuals affected by mental health conditions are endowed with the resilience required to overcome significant adversity. Creating an environment of hope is the first step for a successful recovery journey. The active involvement of people with mental health conditions and family members at all levels of planning and development is essential for the achievement of system transformation and successful outcomes. Children, youth, adults, family members and communities have the capacity for resilience and recovery. Successful organizations proactively include all employees and other stakeholders in organizational development, planning and decision-making.

Last week, Mental Health Partnerships, Delco RISE, Delco Peer, Outreach, Rapid Rehousing, and the Recovery Learning Center, alongside provider agencies from across Delaware County, came together for an amazing Community Resource Day.

The day focused on one thing: bringing resources directly to the people who need them.

Despite the weather, we showed up!

Our community enjoyed food trucks, food pantry donations, recovery vision boards, create-your-own self-care kits, activities, and connections to valuable programs and resources throughout Delaware County.

Thank you to every staff member, provider, partner, and volunteer who stood with us in the storm and helped make the day happen.

Today, on International Overdose Awareness Day, we remember the lives lost to overdose, honor the grief carried by families and communities, and stand alongside those navigating substance use and recovery.

At MHP, we believe every person deserves compassion, dignity, connection, and access to support—without judgment or stigma.

Overdose is preventable. Recovery is possible. And no one should have to face difficult moments alone.

If you or someone you know needs support, the MHP Healthy Minds Philly Chatline is here to provide a safe space to connect with someone who understands. Reaching out can be an important first step toward support, hope, and healing.

Today and every day, we recommit ourselves to building communities where people feel seen and heard, and overdoses are preventable.

Dolly Parton has always been a cheerleader for others, reminding us that everyone has beauty and value, no matter their background or the struggles they have faced.
Throughout her life, Dolly has also spoken openly about experiencing depression and difficult times, using those experiences to help shape her music and connect with others.
At Mental Health Partnerships, we know that mental health struggles can affect anyone, no matter who you are or where you come from. We also believe in the power of hope, connection, and using our experiences to lift others up.
Thank you, Dolly, for your strength, your music, and your commitment to making the world a little brighter.

On August 21, 2026, Delco RISE and Delco Peer hosted their first Water Ice Social!

The event was planned and led by Senior Program Manager Keisha Browning, with the guidance and support of Division Directors Tymeka Robinson and Amber Ballinger, along with the dedication of the entire Delco RISE and Delco Peer team.

Our Case Managers and Certified Peer Specialist were available on-site to explain both programs, answer questions, assist with referrals, and connect community members with services that best met their needs. This provided individuals with an opportunity to learn more about Case Management and Certified Peer Support in a welcoming, relaxed, and judgment-free environment.

We also distributed approximately 60 Narcan kits, along with fentanyl and xylazine test strips, and served 75 water ices and pretzels to members of the Delaware County community.

It was a wonderful day of building connections, sharing resources, reducing barriers, and meeting people where they are. This is what community outreach looks like, making support visible, welcoming, and easier to access!

Becoming a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) can open doors not only for the people receiving peer support, but for peers themselves.

For Brian Montgomery, CPS, becoming a peer specialist was a way to use his lived experience to support others in recovery. Through MHP’s Certified Peer Specialist training and practicum, he gained experience in behavioral health and discovered a career path he hadn’t imagined.

Today, Brian works as a CPS with the Healthy Minds Philly chat line, and this fall, he will begin graduate school in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

“I became a peer specialist because I wanted to help other people recognize possibilities in their own lives. I did not expect the role to open so many possibilities in mine.”

To help MHP continue this work, please consider making a donation. https://www.mentalhealthpartnerships.org/get-involved/donate-now

Congratulations, Brian, on this exciting next step!

Three years ago, Jose was experiencing homelessness and struggling with substance use. Everything began to change when he met Doc, his case manager at MHP.

Fast forward to today: Jose is two years sober, reconnected with his daughter and family, and taking his next big steps to become a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS)!

He is currently enrolled in our Pathways for Career Advancement in Peer Work, our workforce development program!

"If it wasn’t for MHP, I would still be lost," Jose shares.

"Doc always listens and inspires you. I’ve tried to mimic my case manager because he is a calm, cool, and collected guy. I would not be here without him."

Now, Jose is ready to use his own journey to lift up others in their recovery: "I can’t wait to use my lived experience to help other people."

Although this event took place in May, it was simply too good not to spotlight! 🎉
Laughter filled MHP’s Recovery Learning Center in Pottstown on May 21 as participants and staff came together for a memorable day of food, fun, connection, and community.
Program Manager Tiara Council worked hard to make the event special, with help from Danyelle, Matt, and three new staff members—including Chris, who worked the grill like a pro, serving up barbecue chicken, burgers, and hot dogs! 🍔🌭
Participants enjoyed donated backpacks and other giveaways, while representatives from the YMCA and two other local organizations shared valuable community resources and connected with attendees.
Even the rain couldn’t dampen the fun! ☔ The celebration moved indoors, where everyone enjoyed home-cooked food, karaoke, chess, plenty of laughter, and time together.
It was an empowering, joy-filled day that celebrated community and connection at MHP!

Peer voices belong at the table.
Mental Health Partnerships was proud to bring the power of lived experience to the national stage as Dan Miller, Business Manager for the Institute at MHP, participated in SAMHSA’s Opening Doors for Recovery Technical Expert Panel.
During the conversation, Dan shared MHP’s approach to peer support, workforce development, training, and advocacy including the importance of recognizing lived experience as a professional qualification and creating workplaces where Certified Peer Specialists can grow and thrive. The discussion also highlighted MHP programs like Pathways for Career Advancement in Peer-Work (PCAP) and Career Ready Minds, which help create pathways toward meaningful employment. A special Friday inspirational post

After experiencing homelessness and staying in a shelter, one participant enrolled in MHP’s Delaware County Rapid Rehousing Program, and she has now secured permanent housing.
Her journey is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when people have the right support behind them. Along the way, she’s also been connected to MHP’s Delco Rise TCM (Targeted Case Management) unit, whose case managers worked closely with her to link her to critical resources in the community.
This is what recovery and stability look like in action, and it is why programs like Rapid Rehousing matter.
