The goal isn’t positivity.
The goal isn’t negativity.

The goal is honesty.

Because we can’t fix what we refuse to acknowledge, and we can’t build anything better if we’ve already decided it’s hopeless.

Being good to each other matters.

But kindness is not a staffing plan.
Teamwork is not a retention strategy.
And “support each other” should never become another way to ask nurses to survive unsupported.

Be that nurse.
And still demand better for nurses.

Repeat after me:Just because I can carry it doesn’t mean I should have to.I am human before I am a healthcare worker.

Repeat after me:

Just because I can carry it doesn’t mean I should have to.

I am human before I am a healthcare worker.

Healthcare is hard enough.

Be the nurse who does not make it harder.

Teach without ego.
Support without competition.
Lead without making people feel small.

Protect the profession by protecting the people growing inside it.

Be that nurse.

Some people will read this and think it’s about healthcare workers.

It is.

But it’s also about patient care.

The people who care for others are not an endlessly renewable resource.

Supporting healthcare workers isn’t just about protecting them. It’s about protecting the quality, safety, and humanity of the care we all hope to receive when we need it most.

Please allow 3–5 business days for a reply.

Current delays may be caused by short staffing, mental exhaustion, laundry, children, dogs, and me staring into space trying to recover from the week.

Please don’t take it personally.
