Today, we remember September 11, 2001, and the lives forever changed that day.❤️🇺🇸

We remember those who lost their lives, the families who continue to carry their loss, and the first responders and everyday heroes who stepped forward to serve others.

May we never forget the courage, compassion, and unity shown in the face of tragedy.

One of our fall counseling groups, Make Sense of Your Worth, starts tomorrow!

Self-worth shapes how we see ourselves and how we show up in our relationships, decisions, and everyday life. This eight-week program is designed to help teens ages 13–17 build positive self-worth and develop a more secure sense of attachment in a supportive, guided environment.

If your teen is navigating uncertainty around confidence, identity, or relationships, this group offers tools, connection, and encouragement to help them grow.

This group will run from August 27 - October 22. Register today by visiting our website or sending us an email at [email protected]

We often think of therapy as something adults turn to when they’re finally ready to process the past, but what if healing didn’t have to wait that long?

Therapy can be incredibly powerful for children, too. Using creative and age-appropriate approaches like play, art, and storytelling, kids can learn how to understand their emotions, build healthy coping skills, and process challenges in real time.

When children are given the tools to express and navigate their feelings early, they’re more likely to grow into confident, resilient, and emotionally healthy adults.

Meet one of our incredible Child and Family Therapists, Bayn Baxter-Smith!👋

Bayn enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adult women of diverse backgrounds who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief. She utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, client-centered, and play therapy approaches alongside psychoeducation. Bayn strives to create a safe space for clients to process emotions, personal issues, and to find healing.

Motivated by her faith as a Christian and desire for all people to experience wholeness, Bayn's life verse is 1 Corinthians 13:13, “And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love." Through therapy and compassion, Bayn’s goal is to empower clients to find hope and healing through identifying their strengths and resources, coping skills, and processing life’s hang-ups.

At Arizona Family Counseling, we’re passionate about coming alongside churches to care for their communities in meaningful ways.

Through our church partnership program, we offer counseling services at reduced rates for church staff and members—making quality, professional support more accessible for those who need it most.

We believe the Church plays a vital role in emotional and spiritual care, and we’re honored to be part of that mission with trusted counseling resources.

If your church is interested in partnering with Arizona Family Counseling, we’d love to connect and share more about how this can serve your community.

We use a variety of approaches to help children and families express what can sometimes be hard to put into words. One of these is Art Therapy.

Through drawing, painting, and creative expression, children are able to share their perspectives on relationships, process past experiences, and explore their hopes for the future. Art can also be a powerful tool in working through challenges like bad dreams, self-esteem struggles, and emotional pain.

You can see the impact of arts and creativity in our upcoming Art Therapy Groups:
✨ Making Sense of Your Worth

🎲 Game On!
🎨 Magnificent, Marvelous Me

Each group offers a unique approach, but all are designed to foster emotional growth, confidence, and meaningful connection in participants!

What does practice actually lead to?

Not perfection, but progress.

Whether you’re building a skill, working on your mental health, or strengthening relationships, practice is what creates real, lasting change. It rewires how we think, helps us grow, and moves us closer to who we want to become.
