The Empowerment Group, LLC is so excited to announce our newest team member Breanna Kern, she is an intern and brings lots to our practice! Our Intern Counseling Program is why we are able to provide low cost counseling of 60.00 per session. Please contact our office today to schedule.
Breanna's bio- I am a clinical counseling intern with a background in kinesiology, having earned my Bachelor’s degree from the University of British Columbia. Throughout my previous work, I have had the opportunity to support a wide range of populations, including children on the autism spectrum, adults experiencing substance use challenges, individuals living with chronic pain, athletes, and those navigating various mental health concerns. This experience shaped my appreciation for a biopsychosocial approach, recognizing how interconnected physical, emotional, and social factors are in overall well-being.

As an intern, I take an eclectic approach to therapy, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and elements of existential therapy. I focus on being present with clients, exploring patterns of adaptive and maladaptive behaviors, and supporting individuals in taking ownership of their experiences. I value building meaningful, authentic connections as a foundation for growth and change.

As someone in recovery for substances and an eating disorder, I bring a deep respect for the courage it takes to pursue change and healing. I strive to create a space that is compassionate, nonjudgmental, and grounded in understanding.

Outside of my work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our dog Jojo, and our daughter Millie.

Our Intern Counseling Program is able to offer people that do not have insurance or maybe not able to meet the requirements of their deductible; to access mental health services at a discounted rate of 60.00 per session, with providers that have the most current therapy training to our clients.
