FREE DEER HUNT AVAILABLE for DISABLED YOUTH
A few spots remain open for the 2026 PDR Deer Hunt. This weekend's big game adventure set for September 18th through 20th is designed EXCLUSIVELY for youth 12 to 18 years of age with ANY disability.
Here's what each hunter will receive at this fully paid for Whitetail deer hunt:
* A deer hunt weekend conducted from the Better Day Lodge in Clark, South Dakota
* Experienced guides for each hunter in-the-field
* Individual handicapped-accessible deer stands
* Two nights lodging
* Morning, afternoon and evening meals, snacks throughout the weekend
* A travel stipend to and from Clark, South Dakota
* Shooting supplies as needed
* PDR logo apparel
* Processing of the venison harvested

Youth interested in this authentic South Dakota Big Game Hunt can apply for one of the few remaining spaces. The PDR Youth Hunt began in 2008. Held in Clark, SD, the hunt is meant to honor Payton Dean Rasmussen whose life was taken by spinal meningitis in 1999. The P.D.R. Youth Hunt allows children with disabilities to enjoy a weekend of hunting where friends & memories are made.

SD Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics - The Law Enforcement Torch Run - is a statewide event where officers and athletes carry the “Flame of Hope” to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics.
