We’re honored to share this article from JMORE highlighting the legacy of the Levinson Memorial Group and the continued evolution of funeral service in our community.

Backed by the heritage and trusted reputation of Sol Levinson & Bros., Inc. and the Levinson Memorial Group, Eclipse offers a more modern, flexible, and personalized approach to funeral care — including cremation, green burial, celebrations of life, and services that reflect the individuality, beliefs, and values of each family we serve.

We believe deathcare should meet families where they are, without judgment, pressure, or expectations of what grief “should” look like.

Thank you to Jmore for helping introduce Eclipse to the Baltimore community!

At Eclipse Funerals, we believe families deserve honest answers and education — especially when it comes to something as important as death, funerals, cremation, and grief.

There’s so much curiosity surrounding end-of-life care, but a lot of people don’t know where to ask these questions or worry about sounding insensitive for asking them in the first place. 🤍

We’re big believers that education helps take some of the fear out of death care and empowers families to make informed decisions when the time comes.

Drop your questions in the comments — nothing is too taboo or “weird” to ask.

Grief doesn’t follow a timeline, and it doesn’t disappear once the services are over. It changes shape over time, but love and loss tend to walk beside us forever.

For many, Memorial Day is more than a long weekend—it’s personal.

It’s remembrance.
It’s grief.
It’s love that continues on.

Today, we honor those who served and hold space for those who miss them. 🕊️

MYTH: Green burials are plain and impersonal.

FACT: Green burials can be some of the most personal, meaningful services of all. From favorite music and handwritten notes to wildflowers, storytelling, family participation, and celebrations held entirely outdoors — choosing a natural burial doesn’t mean giving up personalization. It simply means honoring someone in a way that’s gentler on the earth, too. 🌿

During the Victorian era, funerals became deeply ritualized expressions of love, grief, and status. Families often held elaborate mourning periods, wore black for months or even years, covered mirrors in the home, and kept memorial jewelry made from a loved one’s hair. Post-mortem photography also became common — often the only photograph a family would ever have of someone they loved.

To Victorians, mourning wasn’t something to hide. Grief was treated as an important, visible part of love and remembrance. 🖤

Did you know there are dedicated awareness weeks in the UK focused on opening up conversations about death, dying, and grief?

It has us thinking—what would it look like to have more open dialogue around these topics here in the U.S.?

We’d love to hear your thoughts: what’s something about death or dying you wish was talked about more openly?
