She leaves to cherish her memories sons, Jerome Terry of McGehee, AR; Reginald Curtis of Fort Smith, AR; daughters, Sheller Griffin of Fort Smith, AR; Diane Ariaspolo of Beloit, Wisconsin; 16 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.

Mr. Sammie Bud Nichols leaves to cherish his memories, his loving father, Mr. Booksie Nichols, SR.; his sons, Mr. Sammy Nichols, Mr. Sean Wilson, and Mr. Adrian Wilson of Kansas City, KS.; brother, Mr. Marvin Nichols of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; as well as his sisters, Mrs. Latrice Cannon of Stockton, CA; Ms. Gracie J. Nichols, Ms. Darnette Nichols, Mrs. Margaret P. Luster, and Mrs. Mildred Washington, all of Kansas City, KS, and a host of extended family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Mrs. Mary S. (Patillo) Gatewood of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; his sons, Mr. Kenneth Gatewood of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and Mr. George Gatewood, III., of Houston, Texas; daughter, Mrs. Tamisha Henderson of Sherwood, Arkansas; brothers, Mr. Eddie Gatewood, Mr. Lee Gatewood, Mr. Charles Gatewood, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; as well as his sisters, Mrs. Geneva Richard, Mrs. Donna Washington, and Ms. Carrie Gatewood, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; and a host of extended family and friends.

Bobby Ray Huskey, 69, of Kansas City, Missouri was born April 8, 1957. He was the ninth child and baby boy born to Alonzo and Essie M. (Powell) Huskey of Dumas, Arkansas. Bobby departed this life’s journey on May 13, 2026. He had an appointment that he had to attend.

He received his early years of education, both elementary and high school in Dumas, Arkansas. His passions all through growing up, in school and in his adult life, love to talk, not a stranger to anyone, be a dreamer and travel to cities and places, and he dreamt about life.

He was a Dumas High School graduate, Class of 1976. While being the youngest and last of his siblings, three children living at home, Mary, Tommy, and Bobby, became known as the three (3) Huskey Klan from Mitchellville, Arkansas. After finishing High School, Bobby moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he worked at Western Electric many years until the plant closed down in 2000.

Bobby’s dream became a reality in the year of 2000 when he started traveling. He moved to Phoenix, Arizona and worked many jobs while there. Whenever he called home, he would be calling from California, Arizona and other locations.

Bobby continued his Christian journey and joined the New Testament Baptist Church in Safford, Arizona in the year 2006.

In 2019, Bobby moved back to Dumas, Arkansas and his health started to decline. When his health started to get better in 2021, he moved back to Kansas City, Missouri. He liked the city life where he had things to do and see. He remained in Kansas City, Missouri until God called him home.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo and Essie M. (Powell) Huskey, four brothers, Lee Andrew, Virgil, Alexander and Tommy Huskey, two brother-in-law, Raymond Buchannon and Floyd Jackson, six nephews, Ricky Gilmore, Tracy Buchannon, Deunrae Livingston, Michael Kline, Hilton Buchannon, Jr. and (Drew) Andrew Huskey.

He leaves to cherish his memory, four sisters, Bessie M. Jackson and Vera Lee Everett both of Kansas City, MO, Ernestine (Hilton) Buchannon and Mary Buchannon, both of Dumas, AR, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 pm. Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Watson Dist. Headquarters - Mitchellville, Arkansas, Rev. P. C. Holley officiating.

Interment will be in Green Mount Cemetery located in Coleman, Arkansas.

Services entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, Dumas, Arkansas.

Mr. Donald Ray Sampson was born in Bastrop, LA to the late Deacon T.J. Sampson and Alice Pitts Sampson on July 11, 1958. He gained his wings on May 15, 2026.

He accepted Christ at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and then later dutifully served as a Junior Deacon. In 1987, he officially became a deacon, and later Chariman of the Deacon Board and remained a faithful member of St. Paul to this present time. He served as Chairman of Plans & Construction Committee for the restoration of the church saintuary and educational building from 1987-1993, which is what is still displayed as present day St. Paul. His passion for spiritual education and growth led to him working towards achieving his Dean Certification through the Sunday School Publishing Board & Accrediation. Donald’s leadership skills were innate. He had a special heart for mentoring and discipleship as he poured into the Junior Deacons of the church. He served and chaired in numerous areas of ministry with excellence, distinction, humility, and unwavering committment to God’s work.

His dedication, mentorship, and leadership towards church and community carried over into his passion for track and field. He was an exceptional athlete and still holds the record for the quarter mile at Southeast Middle School. He transferred from Pratt Junior College to Pittsburg State University were he studied construction and engineering technology and continued his track endeavors. In 1979, he won the Conference Championship for the 400m and mile relay. In 1980, he was awarded the Prentice Gudgen Award for scoring the most points, winning the 200m, 400m, and mile relay. He became Assistant Track Coach at Pittsburgh State University in 1981 and later recieved the NAIA District Coach of the Year Award.

He pledged Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated at Pittsburgh State in 1980. Upon returning to Pine Bluff, AR, he has been faithfully active as a member of the Pine Bluff Alumni Chapter.

He started as a Housing Specialist for the City of Pine Bluff in 1981 where he later became the Director of Economic & Community Development 1991. After 31 years, he retired from the City of Pine Bluff in 2012 and became the Assistant Executive Director of Pine Bluff Housing Authority that same year. From 2016 to 2018, he recieved the Community Service Award from Living Vessels Organization, Directors’ Choice Award, NAHRO Award from the Arkansas NAHRO Housing Hall of Fame, and a Citation from the Arkansas House of Representatives.

Donald married Earma (Erma) J. Armstrong in 1983, and to the union a son was received, Eric A. Curb, and two daughters, Crystal N. Waters (William), and Saundrea S. Sampson. He has three beautiful grandchildren: Emery, Amzi, and Nya Waters. He has one godbrother Leroy Thompson, one goddaughter Tiffany Taggart, and two grand goddaughters Ka’lynn and Elise.

He was preceded in death by his parental grandparents Mr. Jim and Mrs. Patty Elijah Sampson, Mr. Joe Pitts and Mrs. Polly Gardner Pitts, and his brother Joe Sampson.

He also leaves seven sisters Sadie Rowe (Alvin) of Minneapolis, MN, Emma Swift, Dorothy Reynolds (Ronald), and Pearl Sampson-Freeman of Pine Bluff, AR, Betty Ramey of Milwaukee, WI, Geraldine Earl (William) of Carrollton, TX, and Linda Litzsey (Rickey) of Hot Springs, Arkansas and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6:15 PM-7:00 PM, Tuesday, May 26, 2026, held at St. Paul M.B.C., 1404 South Georgia St. Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71601.

Mr. Sampson's celebration service will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 27, 2026, held at St. Paul M.B.C. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
