Why our spinal curves matter 💜
Naturally, our spines are designed to have curves when viewed from the side, while appearing balanced and aligned when viewed straight on.
⚠️ These are known as lordotic and kyphotic curves.
Together, these curves help your body handle gravity, absorb daily stress, support posture, maintain balance, and move efficiently through everyday life.
When spinal curves become flattened, exaggerated, restricted, or even reversed, the body may begin to compensate. Over time, chronic stress, excess weight, poor posture, poor nutrition, limited movement, and tight or weak muscles can all place added strain on the spine and its natural curves.
That strain may show up as muscle aches, tenderness, swelling, tightness, restricted movement, spasms, or twitching.
💥 Movement matters —> but the quality of that movement matters too!
When your spine is better aligned and moving well, your joints can move more freely and efficiently. When the spine is restricted or out of balance, movement may create added stress on the joints, muscles, and surrounding tissues.
That is why posture, mobility, alignment, and muscle balance all play an important role in supporting spinal health and function. 🌿
Your spine supports you every day.
Let’s make sure you are supporting it back. 💜
