Chiropractic care is only for back pain → MYTH🤓

As chiropractors, we look beyond where it hurts. We assess the spine for areas of dysfunction, restricted movement, and misalignment(s) that may be affecting how your body and brain are communicating, moving, and functioning.

Dysfunction can show up differently from person to person: pain, tenderness, stiffness, inflammation, decreased range of motion, muscle tension, certain types of headaches, or nerve-related symptoms.

Each level of the spine has neurological connections throughout the body, which is one reason symptoms can be so individualized and why care is, and should be, specific to each patient.

True chiropractic care focuses on identifying and correcting vertebral subluxations, which are areas of spinal dysfunction or misalignment that may interfere with normal nerve communication between the brain and body.

Specific adjustments help restore proper movement and nervous system function, reducing interference and supporting the body’s innate ability to adapt, regulate, and heal.

And sometimes, pain isn’t the first sign your body gives you that something isn’t functioning well.

Our bodies are incredibly intelligent, especially when given the right conditions to heal. Learn to listen to yours.

Most people do not think twice when a doctor recommends blood work, imaging, or additional testing to evaluate their health.

So why is supporting spinal and nervous system function viewed as unusual when the body depends on clear communication to regulate itself, recover, and respond to the world around it?

Your nervous system is continuously working behind the scenes. It coordinates communication throughout the body and influences how you move, sleep, digest, respond to stress, and maintain balance.

Chiropractic care offers a different perspective. Instead of waiting until symptoms become overwhelming, it focuses on the relationship between the spine and nervous system and the body’s ability to function with greater ease.

Your body was designed to transition between two important states:
⚡ Fight or flight when protection and immediate action are necessary
🌿 Rest and digest when it is safe to slow down, repair, and restore

You need both!

The problem begins when the body has difficulty shifting out of fight or flight and starts responding to ordinary situations as though they are emergencies.

Walking through a grocery store, entering a crowded mall, driving to work, or standing in line at the bank should not require your body to remain in survival mode.

Over time, chronic stress can affect your sleep, digestion, energy, muscles, joints, and overall well-being.

Chiropractic care helps reduce interference within the nervous system so the body’s innate intelligence can be expressed more freely and the body can respond more appropriately to the demands placed upon it.

We routinely monitor blood pressure, cholesterol, lab values, and other health markers.

Why would we wait to pay attention to the system coordinating the body 24 hours a day?

You do not have to wait until your body is screaming to start taking care of it.

Be proactive. Support your nervous system. Give your body the opportunity to work as it was designed to.

🔥Wildfire smoke can place additional stress on the respiratory system and the body as a whole. These slides share vitamins, supplements, herbs, and supportive practices that help support antioxidant defenses, inflammation balance, immune function, respiratory comfort, and overall recovery.

🌿 Vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and other nutrients are essential for the body to function, repair, and maintain general health. Herbs and supplements offer concentrated nutritional and botanical support, with the best options and dosages depending on your individual needs, health history, medications, allergies, pregnancy or nursing status, and product quality.

🗣️Chiropractic care does not treat smoke inhalation. However, supporting healthy nervous system function allows the body to communicate, regulate, and adapt more efficiently during times of increased environmental stress.

🌐 Before taking any medication, herb, or supplement, take time to understand what you are putting into your body. Research its intended use, potential benefits, proper dosage, product quality, possible side effects, and interactions with medications or health conditions.

⚠️ Have questions about a specific herb or supplement in these slides? Leave a comment or send me a message. I am happy to provide general education about its traditional uses, potential benefits, and important precautions, while encouraging individualized guidance when needed.

📖Education is key. Research carefully, choose reputable products, and make informed decisions based on your individual health needs.

🚨Please seek prompt medical care for trouble breathing, chest pain, significant wheezing, dizziness, confusion, bluish lips, or symptoms that are persistent or worsening.🚨

A little look inside my office 💜

Welcome to Kayla Garbera DC, a locally owned chiropractic office where healing happens in a comfortable, personal, and welcoming environment.

I’m Dr. Kayla, and I created this office to provide the kind of chiropractic care I believe patients deserve: hands-on, thorough, specific, and never rushed.

When you come into my office, you are not just another appointment on the schedule. I take the time to listen to your concerns, understand what your body has been experiencing, perform a detailed examination, and explain what I find so that you can feel informed and confident about your care.

My approach combines traditional chiropractic values with individualized care. Depending on your needs, visits may include hands-on adjustments, focused muscle and trigger point work, gentle instrument-assisted techniques, or the use of my Hylo-drop table for a smoother and more comfortable adjustment.

As a female-owned and operated practice, every part of this office reflects the environment I wanted to create for my patients: professional, peaceful, comfortable, and personal.

Whether you are dealing with discomfort, limited movement, recurring tension, postural stress, or simply want to take a more proactive approach to your health, you are welcome here.

Hands on. Heart forward. Patient centered.

When your body is under chronic stress, your nervous system can stay in a heightened state (fight or flight), which may lead to increased muscle tension, posture changes, restricted movement, and compensation patterns.

You may notice it as tight shoulders, neck tension, headaches, back discomfort, jaw tension, poor sleep, or feeling like your body just cannot fully relax. 😮‍💨

Your spine and nervous system work together every day to help your body adapt, move, recover, and function.

That is why supporting spinal health is not just about pain relief, it's also about helping your body move better, handle stress better, and function more efficiently. 🌿

Movement matters. Alignment matters. Recovery matters.

Breathe. Move. Get checked. 💜

Why our spinal curves matter 💜

Naturally, our spines are designed to have curves when viewed from the side, while appearing balanced and aligned when viewed straight on.

⚠️ These are known as lordotic and kyphotic curves.

Together, these curves help your body handle gravity, absorb daily stress, support posture, maintain balance, and move efficiently through everyday life.

When spinal curves become flattened, exaggerated, restricted, or even reversed, the body may begin to compensate. Over time, chronic stress, excess weight, poor posture, poor nutrition, limited movement, and tight or weak muscles can all place added strain on the spine and its natural curves.

That strain may show up as muscle aches, tenderness, swelling, tightness, restricted movement, spasms, or twitching.

💥 Movement matters —> but the quality of that movement matters too!

When your spine is better aligned and moving well, your joints can move more freely and efficiently. When the spine is restricted or out of balance, movement may create added stress on the joints, muscles, and surrounding tissues.

That is why posture, mobility, alignment, and muscle balance all play an important role in supporting spinal health and function. 🌿

Your spine supports you every day.
Let’s make sure you are supporting it back. 💜

Feeling tired, tense, stressed, or just “off”?
Your nervous system may be trying to tell you something. 🧠

Your nervous system controls how you move, feel, sleep, digest, heal, respond to stress, and adapt every single day.

When your nervous system is overwhelmed, irritated, or stuck in fight-or-flight mode, your whole body can feel it.

Fight-or-flight is necessary in short bursts, but your body was not designed to live there long term.

When your body is constantly trying to protect, defend, and survive, it has a harder time resting, digesting, repairing, and healing.

Over time, chronic stress and nervous system dysregulation may contribute to inflammation, poor sleep, digestive issues, muscle tension, hormonal imbalances, lowered immune function, and other symptoms or conditions showing up in the body.

⚠️ Chiropractic care isn’t just about “cracking backs” or “getting a good pop.”

Chiropractic care focuses on supporting the spine, nervous system, and brain-body connection so your body can function, regulate, and heal more efficiently.

When your spine moves well, your nervous system is better supported — and when your nervous system is supported, your body has a better chance to recover naturally.

Your body is not broken.
It may just be overwhelmed.

Ready to support your nervous system naturally?
