✨ We're excited to announce the launch of OSP's new monthly blog series!

Each month, we'll be sharing articles focused on sensory processing, child development, therapy-related topics, and everyday experiences that impact children and families. Our goal is to provide insight, increase understanding, and help parents, caregivers, and educators better support the children in their lives.

🌊 Our first blog post, "Sensory Overload at the Beach," is now available. In this article, we explore how sensory overload can affect children in busy beach environments and why behaviors that may appear challenging are often a response to sensory experiences rather than misbehavior.

Visit our website to read the full blog and follow along as we explore a new topic each month!

Nothing says spring like a little sunshine and messy hands ☀️🐦

This week at OSP, we've been making bird feeders using oranges and bird seed 🍊🌻 From scooping and sprinkling to squeezing and exploring different textures, our clients practiced fine motor skills, coordination, and sensory tolerance. Most importantly, they had so much fun along the way!

Learning to ride a bike builds more than just confidence! 🚲💙

Bike riding helps children develop:
✔ Balance
✔ Coordination
✔ Core strength
✔ Motor planning
✔ Body awareness

Here are a few therapist-approved tips to support success:
• Start on flat surfaces
• Practice balance before pedaling
• Keep practice sessions short and fun
• Celebrate small wins along the way
• Focus on encouragement, not perfection

Every child learns at their own pace, and confidence grows one ride at a time! 🌟

Need a little extra support with bike riding skills? 🚲 Sometimes a little extra guidance can make a big difference. Our team at OSP is here to help your child build confidence, coordination, and motor skills while making the learning process fun and encouraging! 💙

May is Mental Health Awareness Month!

Being kind to your mind starts with the little things.💚 This Mental Health Awareness Month, let’s make space for rest, honest conversations, asking for help, and caring for ourselves and one another with a little extra gentleness.

Simple family ideas to support mental wellness:
✨ Take walks together and enjoy fresh air
✨ Start a gratitude jar and share happy moments
✨ Have device-free dinners to reconnect
✨ Practice deep breathing together
✨ Create a cozy calm corner at home
✨ Plan a family game or movie night
✨ Journal, color, or draw feelings together
✨ Have silly dance breaks in the kitchen
✨ Share kind words and daily affirmations
✨ Check in with each other: “How’s your heart today?”

Healthy minds grow through love, connection, and support. 🌼

We had a great time attending the Early Childhood Fair hosted by the Plymouth Family Network, in collaboration with the Plymouth Public Schools Community Health & Safety Fair!

It was a wonderful, family-friendly event where young children and their families could explore local resources, connect with providers, and enjoy a relaxed, engaging atmosphere. From fun activities to meaningful conversations, it was all about building connections and supporting our community.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to connect with us. We loved being part of such a positive and supportive event! 💙
