🎉 BIG NEWS at Integrated Therapy Services

We are thrilled to announce that two of our Occupational Therapists (Kaylin Brown & Falyn Brooks) are officially Certified Spelling to Communicate (S2C) Practitioners! Even more exciting, they are two of only THREE certified S2C practitioners in the state of Arkansas! 🤍

After a year and a half of extensive education, hands-on training, and internships alongside an experienced S2C practitioner in Oklahoma, we are so excited to continue this communication approach in Northeast Arkansas!

💬 What is S2C?
Spelling to Communicate is an approach that supports nonspeaking, minimally speaking, and unreliably speaking individuals in developing the purposeful motor skills needed to communicate through spelling on a letterboard.

We are passionate about presuming competence, breaking down communication barriers, and providing individuals with greater access to communication!

World Spina Bifida Day was October 25th but ITS Lawrence County is celebrating one of our own today!! Yellow is recognized internationally as the color promoting spina bifida awareness. It symbolizes hope, positivity and support for individuals and families affected by the condition. Landon continues to work hard each week in therapy to show improved strength, mobility and independence. We are so proud of him and all he has accomplished!

🎉 Congratulations to our superstar, Jensen! ⭐️

This guy has worked SO hard over the years in speech therapy, and we couldn’t be prouder of all he’s accomplished! Now it’s time for him to spread his wings and roll on without all his speech girls cheering him on every step of the way! 🥹👏

❤️ It’s World Dyslexia Day, and our therapists are wearing red to show our support for every child who learns differently.

At Integrated Therapy Services, we believe every child deserves the right to learn to read, at their own pace, in their own way, and without being made to feel like they’re falling behind.

Some kids need more time. Some need a different approach. Some need someone to keep believing in them when learning feels hard.

We’ll keep showing up, meeting kids where they are, and helping them find the path that works for them.

Because every child deserves the chance to become a reader. ❤️

This past weekend, some of our ITS therapists had the opportunity to complete the MNRI® Visual & Auditory Reflex Integration course with Dr. Leah Light, Au.D., an audiologist from South Florida who specializes in MNRI👂👀 This workshop makes the 6th MNRI course that ITS has hosted in northeast AR!

Our visual and auditory systems do so much more than help us see and hear—they work together with the nervous system to help us process our environment, regulate, focus, learn, move, and respond to the world around us.

Throughout this training, our therapists explored the connection between visual and auditory reflexes, sensory processing, regulation, movement, and learning while gaining hands-on techniques designed to support integration of these foundational systems.

We are grateful for opportunities like this that allow our team to continue expanding our knowledge and bringing new tools and perspectives back to the children and families we serve💙

A big thank you to Dr. Leah Light for sharing her knowledge and expertise with our team!
