Today at Port Charlotte rehab, their team participated in a powerful virtual dementia experience- and a eye opening opportunity to step into the world of those living with dementia conducted by our Sales Director Melissa Vanderbilt-Bestor and Stacy Jones with Kays Ponger. Melissa is a certified dementia practitioner, Alzheimer's ambassador, Alzheimer's Educator for SW FL as well as a Neuroscience Coach Through this immersive training, staff gained a deeper understanding of the confusion, sensory challenges, and emotional struggles their patients face everyday. What may seem like a simple task can feel overwhelming, frustrating and even frightening. This experience strengthens their compassion, patience, and commitment to providing truly person-centered care. When we understand the journey, we can better support those walking through it.
