✨ Meet the Staff: Shanell ✨

Born and raised in the wilds of Okeechobee—yes, the actual swamp—Shanell is not easily intimidated. Bugs, reptiles, strange creatures, and unusual oddities? She’s probably more curious than scared. 🐊😂

Nell has been part of the Miracles family for over two years, beginning as a Behavioral Health Technician and working her way up to Lead BHT and Director of Housing. Managing housing operations while responding to the daily needs of our clients is no small task, but Shanell handles it with compassion, determination, and a growing ability to be firm and assertive when the situation calls for it. She is always willing to learn something new, jump in wherever help is needed, and bring her own lovable, quirky personality to the team.

Outside of work, Shanell is the proud cat-and-dog mom of Guppy and Rosie. She loves traveling, kayaking, spending time with friends, thrift shopping, and flipping old furniture into something beautiful. Basically, whether she is transforming a forgotten piece of furniture, handling a housing challenge, or helping a client through a difficult day, Shanell has a gift for seeing potential and refusing to give up.

We are so grateful for Shanell’s kindness, resilience, humor, and the many ways she helps keep Miracles—and our clients—moving forward every day. 💜🏡✨

🌟 Meet The Staff! 🌟

Mike, our Director of Admissions

If you're coming to Miracles Recovery Center, chances are Mike will be one of the first people you meet. From your very first conversation, he'll help get you squared away, answer your questions, and lay the foundation for a successful recovery journey. His compassion, experience, and genuine care help make a difficult first step feel a little easier.

A proud native Floridian, Mike has been a welcome addition to the Miracles Recovery Center family for over 2 years. He has spent over 8 years helping others in the treatment field and is passionate about advocacy in the rare diseases community. He's also closing in on an incredible decade of sobriety, bringing both professional expertise and lived experience to the people he serves.

When he's not guiding people toward recovery, you'll probably find him chasing a golf ball, soaking up the Florida sunshine at the beach, coaching his daughter's sports team from the sidelines, or serving at his church. (Some say his coaching voice carries farther than his golf drives.)

We're grateful to have Mike on our team—his dedication, compassion, servant's heart, and sense of humor make him a vital part of the Miracles family!

✨ Meet the Staff: Alexandra Santiago ✨

Originally from the North but a PSL local at heart, Alexandra has spent summers here since she was 8 years old. She holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology and is currently earning her Master’s in Psychology with a concentration in Industrial-Organizational Psychology—basically studying workplace dynamics while living them every day. 😂📚

Now in her third year at Miracles, Alexandra has worked her way up from Clinical Support Staff to Program Manager. She helps oversee admissions, billing, HR, operations, and just about anything else that comes her way. Official title: Program Manager. Unofficial title: problem solver, team supporter, and professional chaos coordinator. 🔍☕😂

Outside of work, she’s a soccer official, proud auntie to 9 rescued pups, follower of Jesus, and someone who values faith, compassion, service, and helping others. 🐾✝️💙

If you've ever called, emailed, texted, or needed something fixed, there's a good chance Alexandra was behind the scenes making it happen. She is so often a steady hand that guides our staff through difficult times. We appreciate you Alex!

Meet the legend herself — Miracles Recovery Center’s longest-standing employee, Stephanie 👑 Which is exactly why she earned the highly coveted office with a window. Around here, that office isn’t just décor… it’s seniority, survival, and pure dedication. Stephanie is the definition of recovery success: coming up on 13 years sober and living proof that rebuilding your life is possible. From case management to medical assisting, she somehow manages to keep the entire place running while also keeping clients accountable, staff sane, and chaos to a minimum. Honestly, if Miracles had a backbone, it would probably be Stephanie.

Need someone to advocate for you? Stephanie. Need someone to tell you the truth? Stephanie. Need someone to help keep you out of jail? DEFINITELY Stephanie 😂 Clients adore her, staff depend on her, and somehow she still has enough left over to be the best mom, auntie, and friend all at once. Also important to note: “mom hugs” are available… but for staff only. Exclusive benefits package. ✨ Meet The Staff: Jodi Patterson ✨

If you’ve ever met Jodi Patterson, chances are she made a lasting impression.

Jodi is one of those people who truly goes above and beyond for her clients. Whether it’s advocating fiercely, finding creative ways to connect with someone who trusts absolutely nobody, or simply showing up with compassion and consistency, she has a gift for helping people feel comfortable and cared for. Even the “hard-to-reach” clients somehow end up connecting with Jodi… honestly, we think it might be a superpower. 🦸‍♀️

She holds a Master’s in Social Work and apparently decided that wasn’t enough work, so she’s currently finishing up her SECOND master’s degree in Public Administration with an emphasis in Healthcare Management. Because relaxing is apparently not part of her born and raised New York lifestyle. 😅 She brings that perfect mix of toughness, humor, and heart everywhere she goes. 🗽

Outside of helping save the world one client at a time, she’s also a proud mom to her amazing 10-year-old daughter and absolutely loves her dog. 🐶👑

Jodi genuinely cares about people and puts her whole heart into what she does every single day. We are incredibly grateful to have her as part of the Miracles family! 💙

Meet The Staff: Rod Huggins 💙

If you’ve been around Miracles Recovery Center for more than 5 minutes, chances are you’ve met the one and only Rod — our Lead Therapist, professional encourager, and certified gentle giant. Seriously… if wisdom, compassion, and calming energy were a person, it would probably look a lot like Rod.

With over 20 years of experience in behavioral health and social work, Rod has helped countless individuals and families navigate recovery, rebuild their lives, and rediscover purpose.

Rod has a huge heart for recovery and believes deeply in the resilience and potential of every client he works with. He’s the kind of therapist who can challenge you, support you, make you laugh, and somehow still make you feel completely safe all at the same time.

Outside of Miracles, Rod is a proud husband to his beautiful wife and an amazing dad to his two sons, ages 16 and 11 — which probably explains his elite-level patience skills. 😅

We are beyond grateful to have Rod as part of the Miracles family. Just don’t let the calm demeanor fool you… this gentle giant definitely knows when it’s time to hold clients accountable too. 💪
