👨🍳 Meet Robin, our Executive Chef!
For the past 12 years, Robin has been bringing his passion for food and hospitality to Laurel Parc. With years of experience as the Corporate Chef for Gustav's & Rheinlander before joining our team, Robin brings a wealth of culinary knowledge to our community.
As Executive Chef, Robin develops the menus and recipes for all of Laurel Parc's dining locations, works closely with our bakers and cooks to maintain high standards, and collaborates with our Dining Room Manager, Elis, to make sure residents receive exceptional food and service.
But for Robin, being a chef at Laurel Parc is about so much more than preparing great meals.
"This has been the most rewarding role of my entire career. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact on our residents, especially those who may be navigating health challenges. It brings me immense joy to comfort them with honest, homemade, and freshly baked soups, entrees, pastries, and desserts every single day."
One memory that has stayed with Robin throughout his time here goes back to his very first year at Laurel Parc, when he met a resident named Carl, a tank commander who served during the 1944 D-Day invasion of Normandy.
Robin recalls feeling honored to know Carl and hear his incredible life stories, even as Carl battled terminal cancer. He was so moved by their friendship that he put Carl's favorite dish on the menu and named it after him.
"That experience alone reaffirmed that I am exactly where I am supposed to be."
It's stories like these that show just how much heart Robin puts into everything he does. We're incredibly grateful to have him leading our culinary team and making a difference in the lives of our residents every day!
