On the mat, the practice can help us cultivate presence, patience, awareness, and the ability to breathe through whatever arises.
But beyond it, the practice extends into our everyday lives. Like in how I stay present with my husband and kids, find gratitude in an ordinary day with Ruby dog, let go of the things beyond my control, and appreciate slow moments with my friends.
Motherhood, marriage, friendship, family life—they all have a way of teaching me the same things I practice in yoga.
To listen, soften, and stay present.
Perhaps yoga is simply learning to meet whatever life brings with a little more awareness... even on the most ordinary days.
