My new patient intake is extensive because I want to have a full and clear picture of your goals, what you’re doing now, who you’re working with, and how I can best support you.
Here are some of the questions I ask new fertility patients and what I learn:
I’m going to ask what your cycle is like. But I also want to know if you’re ovulating and how you’re tracking that.
I ask all of these questions because it’s important to go over all aspects of your cycle history. Your menstrual cycle is the 5th vital sign in telling us what’s going on with your health, so these questions are the best way to discover any red flags that might be impacting your fertility.
I’ll also ask about your partner. A semen analysis, along with their overall health and lifestyle habits are an important piece of the fertility puzzle. They are quite literally half of the equation when it comes to having a baby.
Finally, I’ll also want to know about your overall goals and current plans around your fertility journey.
If your goal is to try to conceive naturally, that allows me to completely control your treatment plan.
On the other hand, if you’re already working with a fertility clinic, and taking medications, or are in the middle of an IVF cycle, I’ll need to cater my treatment plan in a way that supports what your other providers are already doing, so everything works together and on the same timeline.
I’ll also ask about any chronic illness or autoimmune diseases you may have, how you sleep, what your digestion and stress levels are like, and other general health history questions because they can all impact your fertility.
If you’re trying to get pregnant or planning to get pregnant, book a 20 minute consultation to discuss how I can support you.
