Legacy Health is currently negotiating a new contract with UnitedHealthcare, and our top priority is to ensure patients can continue to access the care they need.

If an agreement is not reached before Sept. 30, some Legacy services will no longer be in-network for UnitedHealthcare members.

We know patients may have questions about what this could mean for their care. Read our latest community update for more information, including important details about coverage and continuity of care.

Legacy Health and UnitedHealthcare are negotiating a new contract that will determine how much UnitedHealthcare pays Legacy for the care we provide to their members.

Planning a trip to a Legacy Health appointment this fall? 🚗 Give yourself some extra time.

Beginning Sept. 11, southbound I-5 through the Rose Quarter will be closed 24/7 for up to five weeks. Construction-related traffic delays are expected throughout the Portland metro area, especially near the Rose Quarter and surrounding neighborhoods. Travel times may take significantly longer than usual.

To help avoid delays:
• Leave earlier than usual for your appointment
• Check traffic conditions before you leave
• Plan an alternate route if needed
• Allow extra time for parking and arrival

August is National Make-A-Will Month, making it a good time to check something important off your list.

For Sue Girvan and her husband, Chris, estate planning was an opportunity to support causes close to their hearts. They chose to include CARES Northwest in their trust, extending a connection that began through Sue’s work at Legacy Health and has since grown to include their family.

Sue and Chris found that including a charitable gift in their plans was simpler than they expected and gave them another way to support a cause they care about. ❤️

This past weekend, Legacy Health was proud to join thousands of community members at the Portland Pride Parade and Festival, where employees, leaders, family members, and friends came together to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community and march in this year's parade.

At the Legacy Health booth, our care teams provided free HPV (human papillomavirus) vaccinations to eligible community members, helping make preventive health care more accessible. Special thanks to the Legacy Population Health, Employee Health and Legacy Medical Group – Northwest teams, along with the Legacy Foundation, for making this important service possible.

To everyone who marched, volunteered, visited our booth and celebrated alongside us, thank you for being part of this year's celebration. We are honored to stand with our community and remain committed to supporting the health and well-being of every person we serve.

Preparing for a new baby is easier when a community comes together. ❤️

This weekend, Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center hosted its first Community Baby Shower, bringing together community partners and Legacy care teams to support 30 growing families with education, resources and essential baby supplies.

Designed for families who face barriers to accessing prenatal, postpartum and parenting support, the event created a welcoming space where parents could ask questions, build connections and access practical resources to help them prepare for their baby's arrival.

Families took home newborn essentials, connected with trusted local organizations and Legacy experts, and received additional support, including free car seat vouchers, Pack 'n Plays and nursing pillows.

A special thank you to Women of Good Samaritan, in conjunction with the Good Samaritan Foundation, whose support helped bring this event to life. We're also grateful to our community partners, volunteers and Legacy caregivers for making the day such a success. We look forward to continuing this new tradition and supporting even more growing families in our community.
