While it might sound like another social media wellness trend, this advice is actually supported by a growing body of scientific research: Walking after meals can have surprising and very positive health benefits!

When you eat, your body begins digesting food and converting carbohydrates into glucose (blood sugar), which provides energy for your cells. Light physical activity after eating encourages your muscles to use some of that glucose for energy, helping your body regulate blood sugar more efficiently.

In addition to supporting healthy blood sugar levels, walking after meals may also help improve digestion, boost circulation, and contribute to your emotional well being too. All this while also helping you hit your daily physical activity goals!
