Polara Health was honored to join MATFORCE and Yavapai County Community Health Services as the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors proclaimed September Su***de Prevention Month in Yavapai County.

This proclamation is an important reminder that su***de prevention is a community effort. By raising awareness, reducing stigma, starting conversations, and connecting people with support, we can make a difference.

Thank you to the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors and our community partners for standing together for hope, connection, and prevention.

💜Why Talking Matters

Throughout September, Polara Health is reminding our community that Hope Starts With Us—and connection can save a life.

Su***de can be difficult to talk about. Fear, stigma, and simply not knowing what to say can keep us silent. But sometimes, one caring conversation can make a difference.

If someone tells you they are thinking about su***de, you don’t need to have the perfect words. Listen. Stay calm. Be present. Take them seriously. Let them know they don’t have to face this moment alone.

Sometimes a simple message can mean so much:

“I’m here. I care about you. Let’s get through today together.”

Then help them connect with support.

This Su***de Prevention Month, we’re asking our community to reach out, listen, stay connected, and Give Life One More Day.

More people are reaching out for support — and 988 is answering. 💚

In 2025, 988 state contact centers saw a 12% increase in calls compared to 2024. Even better: 89% were answered in-state, which connected callers directly to local care when it mattered most.

Growth like this means two things: awareness is spreading, and people are taking that first step to find help.
