More activity is not automatically better activity.
New research is helping us understand how changes in the brain’s white-matter support system relate to cognitive decline across later adulthood.
The study did not examine CFDT or any cognitive intervention. But it reinforces an important principle: effective cognitive function depends on organized, supported communication across brain systems—not simply more stimulation.

**Wondering how to get started with Brain Builders Health?**

Start with a **Discovery Session.**

A Discovery Session gives us a clearer picture of how your cognitive functions are working right now—including the functions that support attention, memory, executive function, learning, and everyday participation.

We begin with a baseline cognitive assessment and conversation about what you’re noticing in real life: what is working well, where things feel harder than they should, and what you would most like to improve.

From there, we can identify priorities, answer questions, and determine whether **Cognitive Function Development Therapy (CFDT)** is an appropriate next step.

No guessing. No one-size-fits-all program.

Just a practical starting point for understanding where you are now—and where we may be able to go from here.

Leave your brain a landing place!
The ability to shift attention is essential for responding to changing demands. Each shift also asks the brain to coordinate goal direction, working memory, executive attention, and regulation—and returning to an interrupted task carries cognitive demands of its own.

In this new article, CFDI Co-Founder and Executive Director Jen Beyst explores the movement from busy switching to skilled shifting. She also introduces a practical “landing place” strategy that helps preserve the direction of a task so the brain has a clearer pathway for returning.

This is cognitive function in everyday life: attention moving with purpose, important information remaining available, and action reconnecting with a clear direction.
