We are so grateful for the wonderful community partnerships that help enrich the lives of our residents. A special thank you to Pearson’s for spending time with us today and bringing beautiful flowers for our patio planting activity. Our residents enjoyed getting their hands in the soil, adding color to our outdoor space, and sharing meaningful moments together.

Experiences like these, along with the community event we enjoyed yesterday, remind us how fortunate we are to be surrounded by organizations and individuals who invest their time, kindness, and support in our community. Thank you, Pearson’s, for helping create smiles, memories, and a brighter patio for everyone to enjoy!

Fear doesn’t always look like fear in dementia.

When someone is living with dementia and feels scared, overwhelmed, or confused, they may not have the words to express it. Instead, those emotions can show up as behaviors such as pacing, agitation, yelling, withdrawal, or resistance to care.
What may look like “behavioral challenges” is often communication. A need for reassurance. A need for safety. A need to feel understood.

At Hallmark House, we approach these moments with patience and compassion, looking beyond the behavior to understand what someone may truly be feeling.

🌺🌴 Happy CNA Week! 🌴🌺

We celebrated our amazing CNAs with a fun Luau-themed party hosted by our residents! Everyone enjoyed Hawaiian Punch, fresh fruit, delicious sweet treats, and plenty of laughter throughout the day.

One of the highlights was watching the fantastic dance moves and seeing so many smiles as residents and staff enjoyed time together.

Thank you to our dedicated CNAs for the compassionate care, kindness, and support you provide every day. We are grateful for all that you do!

Today is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.

At Hallmark House, we stand firmly in support of dignity, safety, and respect for all older adults. Elder abuse can take many forms: physical, emotional, financial, or neglect. Too often it goes unnoticed or unreported.
Awareness is the first step toward prevention. We encourage families, caregivers, and community members to stay informed, stay engaged, and speak up if something doesn’t feel right. Every older adult deserves to feel safe, valued, and protected.

Together, we can help ensure our seniors are treated with the dignity and care they deserve.

Community is built through connection, collaboration, and showing up for one another.

We were proud to host the Stroll NoCo Golf Cart Wash at Hallmark House this past Saturday. Events like these are a great reminder of the value of bringing neighbors, local businesses, and organizations together to create meaningful connections and support our community.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the day a success. We look forward to more opportunities to collaborate and strengthen the relationships that make our community such a special place.

CNA Week Appreciation

This week, we celebrate and honor the heart of our care team, our incredible CNAs.

Renata, Paige, Michael, Pamela, Linda and Jakaea, thank you for the compassion, patience, strength, and dignity you bring to our residents every single day.

You are the steady hands, the comforting presence, the familiar smiles, and the people our residents trust in their most vulnerable moments. The work you do is not easy, but it is deeply meaningful and we see it.
Thank you for showing up with heart, even on the hard days. We are so grateful for each of you.

Planning for memory care can feel overwhelming emotionally and financially.
One of the most important things families can do is start conversations early about future care needs, financial planning, and available resources. Having a plan in place can help reduce stress and make decisions feel a little less overwhelming when the time comes.

The Alzheimer’s Association shares helpful guidance on understanding and preparing for the costs of dementia care:

At Hallmark House, we know every family’s journey is different, and we’re always here to help answer questions, provide resources, and support you through the process.

Today is “Call Your Doctor Day”, a great reminder that staying on top of your health doesn’t have to wait for something to feel urgent.

We’re proud to partner with Brooks Family Medical and even more proud to work alongside Joe Brooks, who brings a genuine, down-to-earth approach to patient care. Joe and his team make it easier for families to stay connected to their health, ask questions, and get the support they need without the stress or confusion that can sometimes come with medical care.

Whether it’s a routine check-in, medication questions, or just making sure everything is on track, today is your sign to pick up the phone and make that call. Your health is worth it.

We’re grateful for partners like Brooks Family Medical who help us continue providing well-rounded, in- house, compassionate care to our residents every day.
