A very special thank you to the musical talents of Kirsten and Valinda, Community Liaison with Continuum Care Hospice, for spending time with our Connections residents this week and filling our community with beautiful music, smiles, and so much love! 🎵🥰

Music is so much more than entertainment for people living with dementia. It can connect with areas of the brain linked to memory, emotion, and personal experiences, sometimes bringing back familiar feelings and memories even when other forms of communication become challenging. Music can help reduce anxiety, encourage self-expression, spark engagement, and create moments of joy and connection. 💜

We loved having you both with us and would be delighted to have you back anytime! Thank you for reminding us that sometimes a song can reach where words cannot. 🎶✨

Friday Facials with Miss Elaine are always a hit! Our ladies and gentlemen in Connections look forward to her visits and the opportunity to enjoy a well-deserved spa day filled with pampering, smiles, and a little extra TLC. ✨🥰

Our ladies enjoy relaxing facials and a beautiful touch of lipstick 💄💋, while our gentlemen are treated to fresh beard trims and shaves. 🪒✨

It’s more than just a day of grooming—it’s a wonderful opportunity for our residents to feel cared for, confident, refreshed, and special. ❤️ These meaningful moments of self-care help promote dignity, individuality, and connection while giving everyone something wonderful to look forward to.

🐾❤️ Celebrating National Dog Day! ❤️🐾

Our Connections residents had a wonderful and relaxing time celebrating National Dog Day with music, creativity, and lots of smiles! 🎶🎨😊

We spent the day singing along to favorite songs and creating beautiful dog-themed artwork. It was a simple yet meaningful afternoon filled with laughter, creativity, and connection. 🐶💕

Activities like music and art give our residents opportunities to express themselves, reminisce, participate, and simply enjoy the moment. Most importantly, they remind us that every day is an opportunity to create moments of joy and purpose. ✨

🧇❤️ Living With Purpose: Celebrating National Waffle Week! ❤️🧇

There’s something truly special about creating something with your own hands—and our Connections residents at The River at Puyallup had a wonderful time celebrating National Waffle Week! 🥰

Our residents rolled up their sleeves and got involved in making their very own waffles. From mixing the batter to choosing their favorite toppings, everyone had a chance to participate, make choices, and enjoy the experience. There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and a little bit of delicious mess along the way! 😄🧇

Some residents preferred their waffles original and classic, while others got creative with bacon bits and cheese. And, of course, the best part was sitting down together and enjoying the tasty waffles they helped make! 😋

For someone living with dementia, purposeful activities are about so much more than the finished product. They create opportunities to participate, contribute, make choices, connect with others, and experience that wonderful feeling of accomplishment. ❤️

It’s in these simple moments—mixing, laughing, creating, and sharing—that we create meaningful memories and remind ourselves that every day can be filled with purpose, joy, and connection. 🌷✨

Today, The Rivers residents headed out to The Old Cannery Furniture Warehouse in Sumner for a fun afternoon adventure! 🛋️🌞

We had such a great time exploring all the unique furniture, home décor, and beautiful displays throughout the warehouse. We also had the pleasure of meeting some of the amazing staff who made our visit even more enjoyable!

And because every great outing deserves a little treat… we made an impromptu stop at McDonald’s for ice cream! 🍦❤️

It was the perfect day to get out of The Rivers, soak up some sunshine, enjoy some laughs, and make memories together. What a wonderful afternoon! ☀️😊

BINGO AT THE PARK! 🎉

What a wonderful day to be outdoors! Last Friday for National Seniors Day, our Assisted Living and Connections residents, along with their families, gathered at Pioneer Park for our first-ever BINGO AT THE PARK!✨

It was an afternoon filled with laughter, smiles, friendly competition, and wonderful memories shared with family and friends. 🥰 The event was such a hit that everyone is already asking for us to make it a monthly tradition during the spring and summer! 🌷☀️

A big CONGRATULATIONS to all of our BINGO winners!🏆🎉 And a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who came out and made the day so special.

These are the moments that bring our community together—creating connections, sharing joy, and making memories that last. ❤️
