Pain is often one of the last signals the body sends—not the first.

Pain doesn't always tell the whole story. Changes in posture, mobility, balance, sleep, or energy may appear before discomfort does. Regular upper cervical evaluations can help identify changes early, allowing you to take a proactive approach to your health rather than simply reacting when symptoms arise.

One of the most common questions we hear is: “How often will I need to be adjusted?”

The answer? It depends on YOU. 💚

There isn’t a one-size-fits-all schedule because several factors can affect how often your body needs care, including:

✨ Your starting point – Your initial condition and how long you've been dealing with it can influence how much care your body needs.

✨How your body responds – Everyone adapts to care differently. Some people hold their correction well, while others may need more frequent visits initially.

✨Your lifestyle – Work, exercise, sports, sleep, stress, posture, and daily activities can all place different demands on your body.

✨Your stress level – Physical, chemical, and emotional stress can affect how well your body adapts and maintains balance.

✨Your phase of care – In the beginning or corrective phase, visits may be more frequent as we work toward establishing a more stable correction. As your body adapts and holds better, visits typically become less frequent.

The goal isn't to keep you coming in forever. The goal is to help your body become more stable so you can need care less often.

That's why we evaluate how you're holding between visits rather than simply adjusting you because it's “time.”

Your body tells us when it's ready.

Myth vs. Fact

Our goal isn't to adjust you more often.

Our goal is to help your body hold its correction longer.

That's why every appointment begins with careful measurements to determine if you're still holding alignment. If you are, your body may not need another adjustment that day.

The better your body holds, the longer you can often go between visits.

Learn to recognize the subtle signs your body may be asking for a spinal check-up.

Your body is constantly communicating with you- stiffness, recurring headaches, limited mobility, poor posture, or simply feeling "off" can all be signs that it's time to have your spine evaluated.

You don't have to wait until symptoms become severe—paying attention to these early clues may help you stay ahead of bigger issues.

In upper cervical chiropractic, holding means your body is maintaining the correction we made to the top of your neck—without needing another adjustment.

Think of it like setting a broken bone. Once it's properly aligned, you don't want to keep resetting it every day. Your body needs time to heal, stabilize, and adapt.

When you're holding:
✅ Your nervous system has the opportunity to function without interference.
✅ Your body can focus on healing instead of constantly compensating.
✅ Lasting changes are more likely to occur.

That's why we don't adjust every time you come in. We check your alignment first because the goal isn't more adjustments—it's better healing.

Healing isn't measured by how often you're adjusted. It's measured by how well your body can maintain the correction and function the way it was designed to.

The answer depends on your body, your goals, and how well your correction is holding.

In Upper Cervical care, every visit begins with an evaluation to determine whether an adjustment is actually needed.

Some people maintain their correction for weeks or even months, while others benefit from closer monitoring.

Your care plan should always be based on your body's needs—not a predetermined schedule.

If you're ready for a personalized evaluation, give us a call at 402-933-1933 to schedule your visit!
