Today, Valley Hospice had the honor of attending the UPMC Trinity Breast Cancer Awareness Lunch & Learn at the Steubenville Country Club.

The event featured Alisa Sumpkin, DO, as the keynote speaker, sharing insights on the latest breast health technology, the critical importance of screenings, and answering questions about breast health. The program also included a panel discussion featuring Latika Sinha, MD, and Kristy Retton, Supervisor at Images Mammography.

Dana Troski, Physician Liaison for Valley Hospice, had the opportunity to share information about Caring Connections Palliative Care and how our program supports patients and their families navigating serious illness by providing comfort, guidance, and an added layer of support.

It was a beautiful day at the Ohio Valley Health Center Breast Cancer Awareness Month Health Fair and the WIAACC Ohio Mammography Day Wreath Ceremony!

The event brought the community together for a day focused on health and wellness, featuring local vendors, fun giveaways, healthy snacks and free mammograms to help make important preventive care more accessible.

We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with community members, support initiatives that promote health and early detection and share information about how Caring Connections Palliative Care supports patients and their families.

🇺🇸 Valley Hospice is proud to support the Veterans Stand Down at the Lisbon Lions Club, sponsored by the Community Action Agency of Columbiana County. This event is exclusively for Columbiana County residents and provides an opportunity to connect veterans with valuable community resources.

Stop by and visit with Carla Woodward, Volunteer Coordinator, and Shelley Hetherington, Physician Liaison, from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. today to learn more about Valley Hospice and our "A Hero’s Salute" program.

Designed specifically for veterans receiving care from Valley Hospice, A Hero’s Salute provides specialized end-of-life care and support for patients who have served in the military and their families.

Happy Spiritual Care Week to our amazing Chaplains at Valley Hospice! Whether offering a listening ear, sharing a prayer, providing reassurance, or simply sitting quietly beside someone, our chaplains remind us that compassionate care goes beyond traditional medical care. They meet patients where they are, honoring their beliefs, values, and wishes with kindness and understanding.

This Spiritual Care Week, we celebrate and thank our chaplains for the compassion, presence, and peace they bring to those we serve.

We are kicking off the season by bringing the flavors of fall to local nursing homes with our Fall Fest Drink Stand! Residents and staff enjoyed apple c***r spritzers and iced coffee, complete with seasonal flavorings to make every sip feel like autumn.🍁

Thank you to our friends at Belmont Manor, The Enclave at Barnesville, Continuous Care Center, Country Club Retirement Center, Weirton Geriatric Center and Cameron Healthcare Center for welcoming us! We had the best time visiting with everyone and sharing a little joy!
