Two meteor showers. One night. 🌠🌠

On the night of July 30–31, the Southern Delta Aquariids and the Alpha Capricornids will peak together, creating a double meteor shower.

Here’s what each one brings:

💫 Southern Delta Aquariids — a steady stream of medium-speed meteors, with up to 25 per hour under ideal conditions.
🔥 Alpha Capricornids — fewer meteors, but they’re known for producing slow, bright fireballs that can steal the show.

The display is best seen from the Southern Hemisphere and tropical latitudes, though observers in lower parts of the Northern Hemisphere can also catch it.

There is one challenge: the peak comes just after the Full Moon, so bright moonlight will hide many fainter meteors. Try to watch from a dark location and keep the Moon blocked by a tree, building, or hillside.

No telescope needed — just give your eyes about 20–30 minutes to adjust and scan a wide area of the sky.
