🎥✨ Helping New Residents Feel Safe from Day One ✨🎥

At Starfish Recovery & Wellness, we understand that entering treatment or recovery housing can be overwhelming. For many individuals, walking through our doors is one of the most important—and sometimes most difficult—steps they will ever take.

That's why we're excited to incorporate our new Orientation Video into the admission process for all incoming residents. 💙

This video helps new residents and their families understand what to expect, introduces them to our team, and provides a welcoming overview of our community. Most importantly, it helps create a sense of safety, comfort, and belonging before they even settle into their new environment.

The video also explains the unique relationship between Starfish Recovery & Wellness and StarCity Behavioral Health as part of Recovery City. Together, our organizations provide a seamless continuum of treatment, recovery support, housing, peer services, and community connection—all designed to help individuals build meaningful, sustainable recovery.

When people understand where they are, who is supporting them, and what resources are available, they can focus on what matters most: healing, growth, and recovery. 🌟

🏔️❤️ This past weekend, the teams from Starfish Recovery & Wellness and StarCity Behavioral Health came together for our annual Mountain Retreat under the banner of Recovery City.

🌟 More than a company getaway, this retreat reflects our commitment to a Wellness Recovery Oriented System of Care: a belief that recovery, wellness, and personal growth extend beyond our clients and into the lives of our employees and their families.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 One of the things that makes this retreat special is that it isn't just for our staff. The owners intentionally include spouses, partners, and children because we recognize that when we invest in our people, we invest in the families who support them every day.

💙 Just as we work to help transform the lives of the individuals we serve, we want to create opportunities for our team members and their loved ones to build memories, strengthen relationships, and experience the joy that comes from being part of something bigger than themselves.

🚙🌲 Throughout the weekend, we shared meals, explored the mountains, hit the trails, laughed together, and celebrated the incredible people who make our mission possible.

Today, we are incredibly proud to celebrate a very special milestone—4 years of recovery for our alumni and team member, Tracy.💙

From walking through our doors as a resident to becoming a vital part of our team, Tracy’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. Today, she serves as our Drug Screening & Medication Specialist, playing a critical role in supporting the safety, accountability, and success of others on their recovery path.

In the video shared here, our CEO, Frank Bellanger, presents Tracy with a custom challenge coin inscribed with “Made a Difference to That One”; a small token that represents the very real impact she has on the lives of those we serve every single day. 🪙

We were thrilled to welcome VCU dental program graduates to provide oral health education and cancer screening to our residents.

On Tuesday, March 31st, Bryce and Matt facilitated the seminar portion of our program. This session focused on the importance of oral health, oral cancer risk factors, and guidance on accessing dental care resources.

On Wednesday, April 1st, all members of our group facilitated the activity portion of our program. This includes oral cancer screenings as well as oral hygiene instruction and nutrition information tables.

Ms. Marion Manski, Dental Hygiene Program Director at VCU, oversaw the oral cancer screening.

We had such a wonderful time today touring Pasadena Villa! 😊 It was a pleasure seeing such a beautiful space and connecting with Lee and the team.

At StarCity Behavioral Health, we love showing appreciation for those who work tirelessly to support individuals facing substance use and mental health challenges—so of course, we brought a few treats along! 🍪💙
