Staff Spotlight: Meet Chyenne Lockhart, CNA

For Chyenne Lockhart, caring for others is more than a job. It is a calling.

Chyenne is 58 years old, has been married for 36 years, and is the proud mother of two children and grandmother of four. She has been a CNA for 21 years and will celebrate eight years with Shirkey Hospice this August.

Her passion for hospice care is deeply personal. After helping care for her sister, mother, and father through cancer, Chyenne prayed for God to show her what she was meant to do next.

“I knew then my job was to take care of people on hospice,” Chyenne shared.

Today, Chyenne says she loves her patients like extended family. When asked if she would ever retire, her answer was simple: no.

“I love what I do.”

We are so grateful for Chyenne’s heart, dedication, and the comfort she brings to patients and families every day.

We have experienced a difficult year, having lost 24 of our loved ones at Oak Ridge, who have passed on. We hold each of them in high esteem, and their memories will be carried forward. Rest in Peace 🤍🕊️
