Mother’s Day is a mixed bag for many, for so many reasons. Wherever you are on the spectrum, from joy to grief to anger (or all of them at once) - it is valid and I hope you have the supports around you to help you hold those feelings.

No platitudes here, just recognition. 🩵

I’m tired of this, grandpa.

Posted before, will post a thousand times more. Someone you love is still here because of psychiatric medication. We actually need MORE funding, MORE research into BETTER medications. All the therapy in the world can’t make your brain magically do what it’s supposed to do, if it is deficient.

Psychiatric medications save lives. Therapy saves lives. Both together save lives. I will die on this hill fighting against folks in power that have not a single clue what they are talking about.

Someone you love is here because of psychiatric medication.

Someone you love is here because of psychiatric medication.

The perpetual state of ADHD, amirite? Saw this mug by and knew I had to get it. I’ve been working on having fewer, but more meaningful items in my life - a common ADHD pitfall is having a thousand and one things because “what if I need it?” And while having multiples of things can be a compensatory strategy, it can also contribute to the clutter problem if we’re not careful.

Anyways. I got rid of three mugs that I truly did not need (even though it was hard to do so) and replaced them with this handmade cutie that makes me laugh and feel seen every time I see it.

Cheers, ADHDers! Go drink some water and take a deep breath.

New blog post!

Ever feel like making a decision is impossible because of ADHD?

It IS possible - but it’s extra tough. Kind of like walking against a snow storm - trudging against resistance that makes it FEEL impossible.

But it isn’t. Click to learn more 🩵

Decision-making with ADHD isn’t a lack of choice — it’s increased resistance. Learn why choices feel harder, why doing nothing can feel easier, and how to understand ADHD with more compassion.

If this is your view while you’re trying to work from home - boy do I see you, mama. Work doesn’t stop for sick days so we somehow figure out how to do it all. Sick sleepy kid on our lap alongside the laptop, stroking their hair while writing up a report, while also dreaming up Christmas magic in the days to come … if this is you, hugs - you got this. Just make sure you’re taking time for you, too, to recuperate. Above all, you’re doing a GREAT job. I hope you truly know that 🩵

Anyone else down for the count with illness in their house?

This year, I invite you to skip the holiday perfectionism and instead choose cognitive flexibility, self-compassion, and a body that feels regulated - not overwhelmed.

Also go check whatever you have in the oven - I know you forgot about it while doom scrolling in an attempt to self regulate 😘😅

Fist buuuuuuump for the big win!!!
Assertive communication is so hard - SO HARD - so when someone finally goes all in and sets boundaries or lets their needs be known and it pays off …. Major fist bumps all around. I live for these moments when my clients trust me enough to give it a try and it pays off. And when it doesn’t … we process that. And we still validate and celebrate the hard work in trying anyways because damn, that’s hard!

Control the controllable. Express your needs. When it gets tricky - that’s what therapy is for.
