CCS Education and Wellness Center We are partners with the Riverside Free Clinic and Project Food, and other non profits. If you are in crisis, please call your local 24 hour hotline or 911.

We are a downtown Riverside non profit 501(c)3 dedicated to supporting the mental wellness of our community, providing counseling through our master's level students. It is a packed house and a busy night tonight and First Congregational Church of Riverside . Our mighty little non profit students are running down referrals. They are doing a 50 yard dash back to the office over and over for toothbrushes and razors and laundry soap and clothing for kiddos and nonperishable food and dog food. And all the things. And offering counseling. And serving the HIV Clinic.

Our students have already worked and gone to classes and now are volunteering their time tonight.

Look at the food pantry! We have a dedicated shelf for easy to open cans. We have lots of staples for families trying to make it work in this economy. We have cereals and personal care items. We have dog food. We have electrolytes for those on the street.

Sometimes being downtown is both a blessing and a challenge. Our porch is being used many nights for drug use and a public toilet. We are pretty good with cleaning...but tagging our porch and destroying paint on a building erected in 1903 is simply not nice.

And we are kind of tired of it.

Much bleach. Lots of gloves and plastic bags.

New cameras that have sirens!!! (We may have played with those today...). Did you know some motion detectors have a gunshot sound? We thought that City of Riverside, CA - City Government would likely not want our adorable porch to sound like the OK Corral. (It was a tough choice...)

The graffiti removal team should be coming. Then we will need to repaint where bad adult children worked hard to scratch our paint.

And we will still be here.

Thanks to the moon and back to Jill's cousin, Kelly Kersten, for coming with his bag of tools and taking apart our hundred year old lock to fix the front door. He knows all the historic home fixers, and has all the tools. Our mighty little nonprofit has a great little support team.
