If you had asked the younger version of me what 40 would look like, I don’t think she could have imagined this woman.
She wouldn’t know how much life would ask of her. How deeply she would love. How many times she would have to find herself again. How some seasons would bring her to her knees, while others would remind her just how powerful it is to rise.
But I think she’d look at me now and smile.
Because I made it here; not untouched, not unchanged, but whole.
Forty finds me softer, wiser, more discerning, and more certain of myself than I’ve ever been.
I’ve lived. I’ve loved. I’ve lost. I’ve rebuilt.
I’ve outgrown people, places, expectations; and versions of myself I once thought I had to be.
Life has softened me in some places and made me unapologetically strong in others. I no longer confuse peace with settling, attention with love, or being wanted with being valued.
At 40, I move differently.
There’s a quiet confidence in my walk now. A softness that doesn’t require permission. A sensuality that comes from knowing my body, my mind, my boundaries, and my worth.
Every scar carries a story.
Every lesson sharpened my intuition.
Every difficult season brought me closer to this woman.
And as the sun sets behind me, I’m not mourning the years that have passed.
I’m admiring the woman they created.
Forty isn’t where my youth ends.
Forty is where the woman in me takes over.
No shrinking. No explaining. No asking permission.
I didn’t arrive at my prime quietly.
I earned every damn inch of her.
And if this is what 40 looks like on me…
the rest of my life better make room. 🥂✨
